Can't for Daytona and the start. But honestly I stopped watching last year at the Chase. Hopefully this is an interesting season.

I tend to do something similar to this. I am all gung-ho early in the season but i start to wan the later we get into the season. Once football starts, i tend to DVR most of the NASCAR races and watch them after the fact. I certainly do not miss any chase races but I am also not as pumped as I am in late FEB. As much as I love NASCAR and hate those early season week offs, they could probably trim the season back a little and have it end before Football gets into full swing, IMO.

Yeah I don't get why Hornish cannot get a ride. He's not bad and better than a few who have rides. I'd think he's a sponsors dream. Needs a dad/grandad/great-granddad or some other nepotism going for him. Skill be damned.

@mco65 I agree the schedule needs tightening up. The season needs to end before the NFL regular season starts and there need to be no breaks early on. It's silly to ramp up the season with Daytona then take breaks. People are ready for racing not dead weekends of bowling.

The problem with reducing the schedule is the tracks involved.. I hate to loose tracks, especially those close to me..(which many are). I probably would prefer getting rid of the bye weeks early in the season and then moving the late races to Sat night to avoid the NFL overlap..

Update on Steve Byrnes:

RaceHub co-host/longtime NASCAR on Fox personality Steve Byrnes tweeted Monday afternoon, "My Radiologist called this afternoon. Great news...scans look good! Thank you all for you support, prayers and kindness. We are humbled!!!". Byrnes took a medical leave of absence in September of 2013 to battle cancer. He will return to RaceHub next week and plans to be back at Daytona.(1-21-2014)

FS1 is terrible, Fox really needs to stop pushing it on everyone. Sprint Unlimited TV rating were down 52% from last year (when it was on Fox)! They have marketed the heck out of this channel, but people just aren't tuning in. I remember reading something that Fox Sports Live only had 3,000 viewers one night. Hopefully they figure out that NASCAR is the only thing carrying this channel and go back to Speed, but I know that won't happen.
