Just one additional thought. The last camera I bought (Canon EOS 7D Mark II) I had a choice between B&H and my "local" camera store. I went with the camera store for the service, because that camera store had learned that they have to be price competitive with B&H and Adorama. In that particular case, it was a difference of about $20 on a camera that cost over $1500.
Thanks so much guys! Well, so far everyhing's out of stock or backordered, but I won't go ahead & order yet (even if they won't bill me until it's in stock).
I put myself on the in-stock alert list for a few online retailers (Sony, BH, etc.).
Can't comment on your list of lesser known camera stores, but I want to point out that any source that offers the camera at a lower price is either selling grey market cameras (stuff intended for other countries, privately imported. Usually can't get it serviced in the US) or is a scam. This is because of retail price maintenance, where the manufacturer dictates the retail selling price. So don't bargain hunt. There are none.
Thanks so much guys! I want a Sony ZV-E10 in the black color w/ the grip kit too. I know the camera's $800 all over. ON Black Friday itself, I don't know how much cheaper it will go. (The Sony ZV-1 is my 2nd choice.)
Re: going in-peron, I'd prefer in-person too, but surely NOT going out in the Black Friday madness whatsoever, no exceptions. As long as I have a good amount of time to return it in case I dont like it, that's fine w/ me.
698 but might be more if you want options like a lens
And it’s back ordered

Your best bet is to call local camera stores in your driving are and ask if they have one in stock
Much of this back order is due to shipping problems and CoVid, need.ess to say
So if you want on by Xmas your choice might be to drive to storefront
But it is seller’s market for this camera it seems
