The comments came from folks who were Obese themselves.

Skinny means underweight and not looking good so I would be hurt if someone called me skinny. Same for scrawny. Same for comments like, "you must eat like a bird" or "eating is fun, try it some time."

Thin isn't much of a compliment either. Why would anyone want to be thin?

You want to be fit or looking good or healthy, not one extreme or the other.

Usually used by overweight people who know you don't feel good about being underweight just to make you feel even worse. When I was skinny I wish I'd had the courage to give it right back to them with, "Feeling fat today?." lol

You are right, other comments do not matter. I should tell them that I am very happy with the way I look.

I have a 40" chest and 32" Waist and I was called skinny.

I have a 40" Chest and 32' Waist (4 Pack), Wide shoulders but my Arms are small. The people who called me Skinny were Obese and the people who are fairly built said I was very toned.

I got driven to madness by people telling me I look skinny all the time, so I embarked on a 10,000 calorie per day diet, and now I have 8 new rolls of fat, I can even lick my own nipples, and my bed has collapsed.
