Right now, the United States is not at war with Russia. Yet according to what I see, and according to what I’m hearing from friends back home who are watching US cable news, there is absolutely zero space for dissent from the hysterically anti-Russian narrative. This is how it goes with our establishment, both of the left and the right. Most American journalism, I have come to believe, is not about trying to understand the world, but about imposing a narrative on the world.

Remember how, in the months before the Iraq War started, the British ambassador to the US sent a note back to PM Tony Blair telling him this:

Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy. The NSC had no patience with the UN route, and no enthusiasm for publishing material on the Iraqi regime’s record. There was little discussion in Washington of the aftermath after military action.

The so-called “Downing Street memo” wasn’t revealed until 2005. The Bush administration knew what it wanted the narrative to be — one that justified war — and decided the only things it would consider as true were the things that supported that narrative. The US went to war. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died for that lie, and thousands of US troops were killed and maimed. Syria’s civil war came about because of the destabilization the US brought to the region. All of this we Americans just sweep under the carpet of memory. “NATO is just a defensive alliance,” they say. Oh? Ask the Libyans about that. Or the Iraqis. Or the Serbs.

Gaslighting. It’s all gaslighting. But now, we’re being gaslit into a conflict with a nuclear-armed Russia.

Let's have more sanctions and soon you will see gas at 6000.
Forget about gas prices...

Another one claims Biden said a Feb 16th was the day by intelligence.

***** “If something doesn’t come to pass, it doesn’t necessarily mean that what we’ve been warning of is wrong,” Price said when pressed by a reporter on whether U.S. intelligence which suggested an invasion Wednesday was wrong. “In the best-case scenario, the Russians will have changed their calculus.”

Price added that the press hasn’t heard anyone from the Biden administration point to a specific date from a podium for when an invasion would occur. Politico reported last week that President Joe Biden told counterparts that Russia was planning to attack on Feb. 16, and multiple American defense officials reportedly shared the same view.

Title:
Biden Admin Responds To Russia Not Invading Ukraine On Feb. 16, Department spokesman Ned Price responded to questions about the prediction during a Wednesday press briefing, stating that the U.S. still believes an invasion is imminent.

* While an invasion may not come tomorrow, or the next day or week, Russia is still behaving as if it is planning to attack, he said.

“What I can say is that the Russians over several weeks and in recent days, have put in place the assets, the troops, the material that they would need to undertake an attack against Ukraine at any moment,” Price continued. “We’ve been in that window for some time now, we will be in that window for some time until and unless we see de-escalation.”

***** ZELENSKY - APPARENTLY, DID NOT BELIEVE THE INTELLIGENCE THAT BIDEN RELEASED BITS OF. THAT ATTACK WAS IMMINENT. MAYBE HE SHOULD HAVE???? SO I AM SURE THAT US WITH THE BRITS AND OTHER NATO ALLIES WERE FED THE SAME INTELLIGENCE THE US PRESIDENT RELEASED BITS OF......

** Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky apparently poked fun at the prediction earlier this week, sarcastically telling the Ukrainian public that Russia was going to invade on Wednesday and that they would respond with a day of “unity” instead. Ukrainian officials have consistently countered that a Russian invasion of their country is not imminent, despite American assurances that it could come at any moment.

Structure in Kyiv hit by a missile fragment, 24 February
Shortly before 06:00 Moscow Time (UTC+3) on 24 February, Putin announced that he had made the decision to launch a "special military operation" in eastern Ukraine. In his address, Putin claimed there were no plans to occupy Ukrainian territory and that he supported the right of the peoples of Ukraine to self-determination. Putin also stated that Russia sought the "demilitarisation and denazification" of Ukraine ] He said that "all responsibility for possible bloodshed will be entirely on the conscience of the regime ruling on the territory of Ukraine." The Russian Ministry of Defence asked air traffic control units of Ukraine to stop flights, and the airspace over Ukraine was restricted to non-civilian air traffic, and the whole area was deemed an active conflict zone by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency

Within minutes of Putin's announcement, explosions were reported in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, and the Donbass

Ukrainian officials said that Russia had landed troops in Mariupol and Odessa and launched cruise and ballistic missiles at airfields, military headquarters, and military depots in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro.[ Military vehicles entered Ukraine through Senkivka, at the point where Ukraine meets Belarus and Russia, at around 6:48 am local time.

I would say intelligence was pretty solid. All guesses?? I doubt it. Tidbits released show NATO had it.

Seems also intelligence had knowledge Chinese officials knew of the evasion from Moscow and requested it be delayed till after their Olympics ended.

Closing ceremonies were on Feb 20th.

I think US intelligence knew a long time before that Russia intent was to invade...
I even knew that the war games in Belarus was part of the plan.

Hello?
Did the US bomb Cuban civilians while they were sleeping? No They created an embargo and a blockade, using diplomacy. There is zero comparison to the genocide that Russia is currently engaging in

The rest of the world can see what is really happening. Russia (Putin) is engaged in the wanton and willful slaughter of civilians in a sovereign nation that posed no threat beyond its own internal conflicts. Nevermind the Russian sons being sent to their deaths by Putin.

The rest of the world will make Russia rot from the inside out for its barbaric actions. If you thought Afghanistan was a quagmire, you ain't seen nuttin' yet. The invasion of Ukraine is going to set Russia back for generations. There is no endgame while Putin breathes.

No, the diplomacy the USA/President John Kennedy used was removing the US missiles in Turkey pointed a Moscow. After President Kennedy removed those missiles, Soviets removed the Cuban missiles.

If President Kennedy hadn't not placed those missiles in Turkey, there would have never been a Cuban Missile Crisis. It was an American misstep.

If President Kennedy was president now, he would have negotiated with President Putin well before this became a crisis.

The biggest USA problem is the industrial military complex is inching for another war to increase profits. It wants a showdown with Russia. Something President Kennedy was too smart to allow.

I'm not sure this is unique or exclusive to the Russian Federation. It very accurately describes some folks much closer to where I live in the States...
