you should consider looking at Weston. Its real wealthy, crime is really low and its located in the west part of Fort Launderdale. Trust me, you'll like it.

I am glad you love your hometown. Mine is too expensive to go back to, so I understand.

I hope that your circumstances will change someday. I use to live on Second, probably very close to where you live. It is a very pretty area, with some of the old homes and some of them have been restored. I hope that it continues and your neighborhood will look the way it use to be.

It is true that there are an incredible amount of drugs in that city. I think if the police department can clean up its act, things can be better.

Keep your chin up. If you can, you might try to volunteer in the area to make it even better. I hope you are in school or getting some training. Pick a good path and follow it. You have a very positive attitude and that will sustain you in life.

Best, best wishes to you.

I doubt it. Her story rings true.

Well I just moved from Metro Parkway, and by NO MEANS love it or even a hint of like it there. I will stay right where I am in Estero now, I'll never live north of Colonial again, or mos of Fort Myers for that matter. The 2 apartment complexes I worked for on Metro Parkway across the street from eachother are total ghettos... I hate that area.

Yes, and she is talking about the Michigan housing projects and Dunbar. Most area residents don't really understand what goes on there. She was describing her life and it rings true.

I've been in that area and I'm not saying that I think the story couldn't be true. I just know that the Sarasota forum had a couple of pranks pulled on them last week. One guy fooled everyone twice with two different user names. Really had people going for a while.

Maybe her keyboard doesn't have a key for the letter "o " anymore. Who am I to say?

I know about the Sarasota forum incidents. That was crazy. First time I had ever seen those kind of posts. But I didn't respond to any of them.

Her "O" is not stuck. She's responding in rap "writing."

is there much in the way of punk-on-geezer action, or is it more a problem for those that mix with them in the public schools, neighbourhoods and clubs and bars?

My heart goes out to those stuck in that situation, but it is a free country, and they choose to live there. This subject is way outside my personal experience, but for those stuck in that situation, in particular the kids and young girls, my thinking is that I would take social refuge in the local church scene and take up martial arts and get real scary good at it until you can figure out how to get out of the bad hoods, assuming you are not permitted to arm yourself legally. I probably don't know what I am talking about here.

For your typical geezbird (such as myself) is this more an issue of whats on the evening news, or should I have a 12 gauge in my golf bag in case I am ambushed while putting or should I be carrying in case someone jumps me from behind the wine rack at Fresh Market?

More generally, please inform me how retired folks and snowbirds encounter crime in FM?
