Absolutely cable. It costs them peanuts to provide the channels they do compared with what they charge.

Cell phone plans are also ridiculous.

Remember ten years ago, they use to charge us for text messenging? And if you wanted to text a certain amount, they would charge you.

Energy drinks like red bull and those iced coffee drinks Starbucks sells in glass containers. It costs them more for the packaging and the product costs them pennies to make. Small convenience sized items in general... I'll buy a whole gallon of milk and use a thermos rather than spend $1.50+ for a pint.

Alcoholic drinks served at stadiums and resorts. $7 for a pint beer? Seriously?

As for cable if enough people stopped paying maybe they'd stream the channels online free, supported with ads. I'm not paying $50+ per month to watch commercials when a VPN and torrents cost $40/year hahahahaha (meniacal laughter ensues)

This is certainly avoidable. You can sell your own home without a realtor, but I would recommend hiring a real estate lawyer to handle the paperwork -- much cheaper than paying a realtor!

My vote for the biggest ripoff is insurance -- until you need it.

Until the majority of buyers quit using realtors we are stuck using them to sell our houses. Many of us tried to sell our homes but couldn't get the people in there to look.

I think cable is outrageous. But my family uses netflix and some streaming thing and I asked them what they watch at night... oh Hogans Heroes..... cable news isn't accessible, other things aren't too... no sports... yeah sometimes we get stuck with high fees for things.

Ads in the yellow pages. Very high to pay for.

Most things name branded. I remember the year my kids HAD to have name brand tennis shoes or the kids would make fun of them. That's the year their clothes expenses went up.

NFL teams that require season ticket holders to pay a personal seat license for the "RIGHT" to purchase a season ticket. It's my understanding that the NY Giants, e.g., require $20,000 for this RIGHT for certain sections of their stadium. I also understand that this practice has spread to other pro sports.

The cost of going to any pro sports game is rip-off city. Not just the ticket price but also a cup of beer, hot dog, soft drink, jersey for the kid ....

I guess that I'm spoiled, remembering the cost of a bleacher seat to see the Baltimore Orioles at 75 cents, and for kids under 12, 50 cents, and it was $2.50 for a box seat.

Seats on the 50-yard line to see Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts were $7.50. The bargain seats were $5.50.

Last NFL game I attended was in 1968, last MLB game, 1970.

Wine ordered at restaurants by the glass. Something like a 400% mark-up -- if not more.

20k isn't nothing. AT the niners new stadium, those prices range from 30k-100k PER seat. And on top of that, YOU STILL GOT TO PAY YOUR REGULAR SEASON TICKETS. and on top of that, you gotta pay parking, food, etc.....
