There seem to be a night every so often, maybe once a month, where all plans go to hell and I pick up either Subway or Chipotle for the kids. We've had Chipotle 2x this year.

My sons LOVE it so much though that I had to pick up a few copy cat recipes:

I now have both recipes memorized. They both have been EXCELLENT at helping me use up those Covid-19 panic food purchases. I went through our canned black beans and am on to using the dry beans. Super simple... 3/4 cup of dry beans, 2 cups of water and some salt in a mini crockpot. Wait 3 hours. Continue with recipe, but double the spices. Grind some cheese and you've got vegetarian "chipotle".

I imagine our burritos cost about $2 each.

To answer the question: Yes, a $10 or $15 burrito is too expensive. Most of the time...

$15 probably isn't too much to pay for a restaurant meal, although that would usually include table service and a bit of atmosphere, plus someone else clearing the table and doing the dishes.


Myself, I wouldn't pay $15 for a delivery burrito, only because burritos are some of the easiest things to make at home. But for a person who isn't capable of cooking even the easiest things and who has a craving for a burrito, I guess that is what you have to pay for a burrito delivered to your door.


Once you leave your mother's house, you have to pay other people to take care of you if you can't, or don't want to, take care of yourself.

$15 is an entire meal. The only way I will spend $15 on a single item of food is if I go to Primanti Bros. where they put the french fries on the burger, which is essentially a meal.

A $15 dollar burrito is only worth to those who are willing to pay that much for it.
It is not worth to me, but obviously there are people who don't mind the high price.

I wouldn’t do it, but you are paying not only restaurant cost for the burrito but also for delivery. Taking both things into account, $15 seems reasonable.

I think that chipotle burritos aren’t all that good, and I don’t think burritos travel well, so there are issues with your choices opinion my opinion.

A large burrito is a meal, it will have meat, rice, beans, some veg, as well as the tortilla wrap. If I get a Chipotle burrito, I cut it in half & have it for 2 meals.

$15 for someone to bring you a CMG burrito is expensive unless your employer is paying for it.
I dont know about you,but if I am paying $15,I expect more meat and guac.
A sit down complete dinner in a nice restaurant would be more than $15 with tax and tips unless you are eating in a cafeteria like Luby.
Or they have a daily special for 9.95 at lunch time with roll,salad
