Either a Ruger PCC-9 or a .357 lever gun (haven't decided which one). Looking for a carbine/pistol combo to go with either my Ruger American 9mm or my Security Six. I'd prefer to go the .357 route but the 9mm is a little cheaper.
haha...I just went the opposite route yesterday (for the same reason, to have a handgun/carbine combo) - picked up a 6" GP100 to go with my 2nd year (pre-safety) Marlin 1894C.
As for next on my list of guns to buy - a Colt Frontier SAA (44-40), preferably manufactured 1889 or earlier - to go along with my 1877 manufactured Winchester 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine. Can you tell I like having handgun/carbine combos? (oh yeah, forgot to mention my .30 Ruger Blackhawk that goes along with my M1 Carbines - an IBM & a Winchester).
I have so many ARs I don't know what to do with them. I'm looking to a left hand short action 6.5 x 284 Norma bolt gun with at least a 18X optic for long range hunting ...next.
You know, like hunting game, I just prowl the gun shops and ads in magazines, online, and go after whatever I think is a "deal". A lot of my guns are redundant with each other, I really don't care about that. I don't have a rifle heavier than 300 H&H or .348 Winchester, outside of my 45-70 1886. There is room in the lineup for a .375 H&H I think. Probably another pre-64 Model 70. I got 2 Lyman 48 sights, one is going on my 300, the other one is chilling out on top of my desktop computer where I can look at it. Probably it will go on a .375 when I get one.
One I have my eye on is a Remington pump .22 at a local gun shop. I have always liked them for whatever reason. Would like to get a .22 Walther PP or PPK, these are back in production, but the old ones are still out there, although selling for more than the new ones.
I am the same way. I surf through online sales ads and see what strikes my fancy.
My eyes are naturally gravitate toward revolvers. For now I am looking for either a Ruger Single Six or a Single Ten, or maybe with convertible chamber for .22LR/ .22mag. But then I read that a convertible is not quite "accurate" for a .22LR Not sure what I want.
On the long guns, I have plenty of "high power" calibers. I am actually looking for a less recoil rifle, something like a .243win, or a 7mm-08, or a 6.5 Creedmore. More fun in research those

For .22 revolvers, try the CCI Standard Velocity ammo, with the black bullet. Most .22 ammo, particularly high velocity, is loaded with a bullet on the small side so they will still feed reliably in dirty auto-loaders. The CCI SV has a "fatter" bullet diameter, and frequently gives the best accuracy you will get from a given wheelgun.
I am not sure if the "Convertible" Rugers are built with a bigger diameter barrel to match the .22 Win Mag, but your comment that they tend to be less accurate, (I have not heard that, but, hey I can't know everything!) would suggest that the barrel diameters are bigger and more in tune with the Magnum's jacketed bullet.
Since I handload and have .22 Hornets, and in handguns .32 ACP, .32 S&W Long, 32-20, 30 Luger - all of these get a cast bullet - I, personally have never had any desire for a .22 Win Mag in either handgun or rifle. But that's just me. (Don't laugh at the .32 ACP - from my 1903 Colt, if you concentrate on that fine little front sight, if you can see it, you can hit it!) (For hunting use, a bullet with a decent meplat like what Buffalo Bore loads in their cast bullet .32 ACP ammo is way better than a round nose)

I have that Norma 6.5x284 in savage with the Weaver 42x target scope ,with 142 gr I can cluster a 3" group at 500 yd.Now I know some on here would say what's so good about that ? well the whole le set up was less than two grand. Buying off the shelf ammo is a hunt in its self so I have to reload.
