If this were really about condemning sin, then service would be denied to all sinners, not just a particular sin among a particular, targeted group.

Whoever said it was about condemning sin?

You're missing the point. I don't think there will be a huge surge in discrimination. The problem is that it sends a strong message that Indiana is backwards and inclined towards intolerance, even if it doesn't necessarily work out that way in practice. Also, any attempt to actually discriminate against gay people in Illinois based on the religious freedom bill would be overruled by the more recent anti-discrimination bill.

It opens the floodgates. John Q. Store-Owner can use a shaky interpretation of the Bible to deny service to interracial couples, single mothers etc.

The intention comes from a fear of "the other" and a desire to make (white) Christians feel like they're back in control. An earlier poster made a good point. I don't think they intended for Muslims, Jews or Hindus to use the law.

Not missing the point at all. This is the same argument I've been making. We'll see how this shakes out.

Source? Legalized now or are you jumping the gun? I think a lot of states will legalize it in 2016, including AZ and no doubt NV. For the time being, one could go to states like Colorado Washington Oregon Alaska ORRRRR.... Indiana?

With this other backwards and foolish law in effect, I'm going to pass on Indiana for anything. I think the elected officials there have collectively shot themselves in the foot and the state will see ramifications of it. It's bad PR, no state really needs it.

I think we've recovered from that embarrassing stunt, and we got to keep the Superbowl which ended up being a big success. Hopefully Indiana can move on the same way and the boycott buzz that include large sources of revenue for the state can fade out. For now, it looks pretty ugly. As to the church of cannabis, more power to him.
