CrosbyStills, the only information that I have seen referencing that area is from comments on the Rarity Bay Residents FB page. I don't know the original source of the information so I am not going to publish since I cannot vouch for its accuracy.

I'm willing to throw it out there, unconfirmed, that TVA is building a battery storage plant to help provide power to the nearby industrial park. If that is indeed the case, it is likely to be very utilitarian and not very aesthetic. It sits directly across from the RB entrance, an eyesore coming and going. I hope that is not the case.

I can confirm it is a TVA project. The sign for construction workers is written in (Volunteer) orange spray paint on a piece of plywood on the highway at the driveway onto the project states, simply, "TVA."

Yup, definitely an eye sore directly across from Rarity Bay's entrance onto Hwy 72. Appears to be an electrical substation being built.

More people moving in requires more electricity. We all like having reliable power. We had a new larger substation installed in TV a few years back too. It's greatly relieved the frequent power outages we were experiencing. Not pretty, but at least there's a berm to hide some of yours.

TheShadow, pretty sure I had heard (or read) that the facility was being built to add capacity to the Industrial Park there off the 72 next to Rarity Bay.

Either way, it's more energy that's needed on the grid in that area. Residents don't own the land outside their gated community and don't get to dictate how it's used. If a farmer owned it and put in a dairy farm with all the accompanying smells, people would complain about that too. Not your land, not your call.

A couple of years ago there was an issue with a sinkhole on a property in Rarity Bay. I recall there was already a home on that lot. On what street did this occur? Any information is appreciated.

This is the only thing I could find on the Rarity Bay sinkhole

Could find anything newer. You may want to contact blog poster in the link for more info.
Cheers,
Bob

Default Sinkhole

Thank you Rsaw7855. I didn't know about that sinkhole event. The one I am curious about was within the past 5 years. It affected the property street and perhaps driveway.
