If a recreational pot store opens in my neighborhood, and I want the federal laws enforced to shut it down, who can I call? Will the ATF enforce federal marijuana laws and arrest all parties violating federal law? I obviously can't call the LAPD, since they will now refuse to enforce federal marijuana laws as they also refuse to enforce federal immigration laws.

Have any recreational shops opened in L.A ? I heard it was going to be delayed in L.A supposedly .

L.A is still supposedly working on the regulations but I can see them screwing it up like they did with medical allowing a bunch of illegal jobs to stay opened for years and years .

I can't believe they are doing that social justice thing giving priority to ex-cons and giving them loans to open up shops .
Lunacy really

Yeah, ex cons already did the time. But yeah, allowing them to turn their lives around making an honest living working in an industry that specializes in a plant that was once wrongfully illegal..

How many years has it actually been though...in CA since people have done time for marijuana?
I mean medical marijuana has been legal since 1996... are there that many people buying it illegally?

I'm guessing they'll also include people that have committed other crimes too.

Also this isn't just for them to work in the business but actually own it...seems like taking some random criminal that lives in the hood and have them running a business is a recipe for disaster....but..."social justice"..

Councilman Herb Wesson reiterated the sentiment, noting that the program goes beyond an effort to create “diversity.”

“Social equity is about trying to correct a wrong,” he said.

Under this program, cannabis business operators that meet the “social equity” criteria would be moved to the front of the line for license applications. Such businesses would need to meet criteria such as have low income status, a cannabis-related conviction or being located in an area that has had a high number of cannabis-related arrests.

You said ex con. As in they're out of jail. They payed their dept to society. Depriving them of an alternative to a life of crime doesn't seem reasonable.

Why would marijuana stores opening in your neighborhood affect you?
