Interesting, I have never seen you as the kind of person who would feel that whatever the majority wants is necessarily the right thing to do.

Friends and family of mine in LE want nothing to do with this sort of thing.

I didn’t express my personal opinion of ‘right’ / ‘wrong’ ... I laughed at the inference that concern for controlling the outbreak vs reopening the economy is a minority view.

That clarified, whatever my personal position on the matter may be is not based on others’ opinions, regardless.

The governor just extended the shut down. Let’s see how well that works out. A lot of people in Ca we’re already getting sick of the lockdown “before” Newsome extended it even longer... yesterday I believe.
You’re willing to destroy the economy and people’s lives over a virus that may or may not kill perhaps 2% of the population, with a 98% recovery rate? Where is the logic in that? Do people need to feed their families, pay their bills, get their kids educated? Dose the government not need to collect taxes ? ( they just gave away trillions) how is this sustainable? Be honest now. What’s the dateline for “ getting a handle “ on the virus. How long can we do this? 6 months? 1 year? two? 10? How long can the government subsidize the people? How long can people not work? What happens when the government says sorry folks we can no longer afford to subsidize the people nor their health care?
You have people running around signing Kumbaya and meanwhile.... Rome is burning.

Tables set up outside and many cars in the driveway or parked in front of houses where open spots usually are plentiful. Out-of-state license plates on some of those vehicles.

You're probably right, but if they're called, they have to do their job and ultimately it will make them want to be harsh toward gatherers to dissuade more of the same.

I was just walking past the one residence on my block that I'm almost sure flouts the order about gatherings and thought maybe police could note suspected violations without necessarily making contact and post a warning form letter on the premises.

One person's ridicule implicitly answers the other's

Society cannot function well enough like this. People are sick of the pandemic's effects and as government increasingly pinpoints private gatherings as a major culprit, many in the public will support the types of ideas I've stated and the authorities will enforce them. Private mixed-household gatherings have technically been verboten for months.

"But the virus is nothing to almost everyone who gets it!" Wrong. The mostly failed reopening is demonstrating what it does, and all someone needs to do is Google to understand that there isn't a quick, easy, full recovery for 98% of people and many, many at-risk citizens have dropped out of society, to its detriment. Most of the public will want Covidiots punished for this.

Why would people set up tables in front of a house? You think they are running a restaurant or something? How would cops know if there is usually open spaces or not? As for out of state license, there are plenty of them all the times. Nothing unusual even now

SCOTUS ruled that cops have no obligation to protect citizens, they can decide they are too busy for such low priority call etc.

What does standing in line at the weed store have to do with anything. You can also Mr jealousy ...
And the pregnant poster , wow what an attitude ..

This really is why the virus is just tearing through the US . Waiting for a vaccine is ridiculous at this point.. this is why the virus is so much less rampant in Europe, people aren't so selfish and they did and DO what is good for the greater good , not just thinking of themselves like so many Americans do , evidenced in this thread

Lol... When you start “name calling” you know you’ve lost the argument. I am still waiting for some real answers to my questions. You couldn’t provide any so you chose to attack people by calling them idiots. I am guessing that you’re a democratic socialist?
