I saw a news report of the funeral today and one his cousins said their family desperately needs answers and they hope the truth comes out on what happened here. So that kind of tells me that they think this was more than a drunken accident.

Intersting article on this:

https://www.wgbh.org/news/local-news...iminal-charges

I am kind of shocked at how it downplayed the severity of what happened. It doesnt' matter if it was accident or not. She hit and killed someone.

she's been charged with three crimes: manslaughter, motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of a collision that caused death.

I don't think they are downplaying it at all.

I meant the two people in the wgbh article. The overall sentiment from them is that this was simply accidental.

The public knows she was highly intoxicated but none of that will be able to be used in court because she never had a breathalyzer. Her lawyer is apparently very good. I think she’s unfortunately going to get off easy. But we’ll see.

Well, if she claims she wasn't intoxicated then she certainly can't try to use that as a defense for manslaughter.
