Seems like the new leadership at CNN just wants to report hard news. They don’t want to be seen as political in any way. Admirable goal but I fear that is impossible. If you just reported hard news without much political commentary it would absolutely come off as conservative. Like most people view local news as conservative. The left doesn’t want people to come up with their own conclusions about the actual news, they want to tell people WHAT to think about the news. If they just reported murders and rapes and international affairs people may start to think the wrong way.
It won't work. Right people will never trust them and they are pissing off the few left viewers they have left.
The Don Lemon show tonight (9/16) provides a good example of how CNN has started to change.
Lemon was asking three attorneys about the odds of Trump being convicted. Two of the attorneys explained it would be difficult to prove Trump intentionally removed unauthorized documents. Lemon didn't like this and attempted to push back. However, one of the attorneys explained Lemons reasoning regarding the law in this situation was faulty.
All of which I found found highly entertaining. The guests weren't brought on simply to declare "Trump is guilty" and high five each other.
The guests tonight were there to provide various points of view.
CNN was always in the middle. Of course they have been reporting on Trump. The whole world has been. If he wasn't such an incompetent clown, so outragous, and if he wasn't a criminal, they wouldn't be reporting it. CNN dosen't dabble in conspiracy theories like FoxNews. Some opinion shows on CNN may be leaning left.
If that is the information CNN imparted to viewers about Trump, it is time to do a reality check as the charges listed, perfectly describe BIDEN!
CNN used to be tolerable way back when. Then they turned state propaganda machine beginning with Obama cover ups. You know, 'ISIS is the JV team". "It would take a magic wand to bring back manu jobs"
Like Fox and MSNBC, CNN knows that when Trump exits the scene, they are all in danger of imploding from the vacuum Trump will leave behind him.
Each of them is trying to get set up in different ways for that eventuality. None of them know yet what's going to work for them in the future and what won't.

Totally agree. They have so tainted their brand so badly that even the mention of CNN brings laughter and distain from majority of potential news consumers. CNN becoming more "fair" will only anger their remaining 100 rabid leftist viewers. Gee, they could even hire Chrissy Wallace away from FOX.....LOL
We should all be unhappy with CNN, MSNBC, FOX, NewsMax - they are all worthless, other than a quick scan to get the headlines of the day.
The journalists that sign on the bottom line with these infotainment giants pretty much dump their credo in the trash. We all know the the right words to describe Trump and Bannon and the other thugs in their criminal enterprise are "corruption" and "neo-fascism", but the talking heads will never tell us the truth for one simple reason. The truth scares viewers away, and that is the kiss of death for advertising revenue.
These companies live and die by one axiom: every $$ of profit is a good $$, no matter how it is achieved.
Preach. People talk about the utility of one network over another, but at the end of the day all of these networks hire people away from each other who promptly then say what the new network wants them to. Look at Chris Matthews on CNN or what Chris Cuomo has turned into since leaving CNN. It's clear that these folks aren't saying what they actually think but only what they're being well-paid to say.
Even if CNN gets off of its unhinged, TDS approach, they've disgraced themselves to the extent that I hope they never recover. I certainly won't be returning.
