You go, Black Jack 22, follow your dream. I like what I guess you would call old-school jazz. Some of the really wild stuff just doesn't do a thing for me.
I like some stuff i think of as Jazz but some Jazz purist's might debate it.
I like the Funk-Jazz Fusion stuff like Donald Byrd,Early Kool & Gang,Roy Ayers..
Grover Washington JR,Bob James,Freddie Hubbard.

He's a drummer who's a huge Chick Corea fan (especially his cores acoustic band), cuban jazz, Jobim, and some latin jazz trumpeters (can't remember the names).
Me, I like my jazz a bit light with samba/bossanova flair, like Michael Franks and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
It's ALWAYS good to discuss jazz, it has been a long time since we had a thread on it. Like MICoastieMom said-FOLLOW YOUR DREAM! Will comment later on favorite jazz piano artists and pm a guy who definitely knows his jazz but hasn't been on the music forum lately. You'll get a lot resonses on here, for sure.
Wes Montgomery, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Sonny Clark, et al among many, many others. I just think the 50s and early 60s were the true golden age.
