You go, Black Jack 22, follow your dream. I like what I guess you would call old-school jazz. Some of the really wild stuff just doesn't do a thing for me.

I like some stuff i think of as Jazz but some Jazz purist's might debate it.
I like the Funk-Jazz Fusion stuff like Donald Byrd,Early Kool & Gang,Roy Ayers..
Grover Washington JR,Bob James,Freddie Hubbard.
You mentioned Joe Sample i like his song "In my wildest dreams" the one that was sampled by Tupac.

Oh My Gawd! My husband will be all over you!! (uhm..wait, that doesn't come out right, does it?)
He's a drummer who's a huge Chick Corea fan (especially his cores acoustic band), cuban jazz, Jobim, and some latin jazz trumpeters (can't remember the names).

Me, I like my jazz a bit light with samba/bossanova flair, like Michael Franks and Antonio Carlos Jobim.

It's ALWAYS good to discuss jazz, it has been a long time since we had a thread on it. Like MICoastieMom said-FOLLOW YOUR DREAM! Will comment later on favorite jazz piano artists and pm a guy who definitely knows his jazz but hasn't been on the music forum lately. You'll get a lot resonses on here, for sure.

Wes Montgomery, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Sonny Clark, et al among many, many others. I just think the 50s and early 60s were the true golden age.
