No one in Charlotte outside of City Data thinks of Raleigh to begin with. The state capital is still playing catch up.
Honestly most people in this area don't really think of Charlotte either.
I've lived in Charlotte, I live in Durham now. The Charlotte and triangle area are very separate metros that operate independently from each other. You rarely hear people in one talking about the other.
So you're saying that Raleigh is more conservative than Charlotte when it comes to the city ordinance that Charlotte passed? Are most folks from Raleigh in favor of HB2?
I don't care for Charlotte it has too much of a low country south carolina vibe I don't know it's current character that well with immigration but that's my sense of the "resident" population
If anyine is taking this debate too seriously (City of Raleigh vs City of Charotte), here's an article from a few years back that provides a little background on the "rivalry".
Raleigh (the City) and Charlotte's "rivalry" I'd characterize as more good natured. Both are great metros with unique characteristics that are both valued by their residents and valuable to the State as a whole.
Raleigh (State government seat - legislature) and Charlotte's rivalry is more heated, on the whole, but certainly varies based on the legislation of the period. Needless to say right now both are a little sore and the State looks foolish and short-sighted... so no doubt the GA minions are ginning up anti-Charlotte rhetoric wherever they can find a receptive audience.
I don't think it's very constructive to people who like either city to say negative, generally off basis, things about one another considering the politics of the state. If anything, it should strengthen the bond between Mecklenburg county and the Triangle region.

I don't know what you are implying . The triangle area is generally considered more liberal than Charlotte is.
Amendment One was voted down by a higher margin in Wake County than in Mecklenburg County. And both of them pale in comparison to Durham and Orange county where it was voted down by huge margins.

Not true in the slightest. Raleigh/Triangle has nothing to worry or talk about when it comes to Charlotte. My friends barely mention it, even when they come back from a weekend there. Reaching at its best lol.
