Now the latest epidemic with her kids has been "pink eye". Co-worker has missed almost 10 days of work this past month with her kids, and herself, having pink eye, recovering, and getting reinfected. Now, we all know pink eye is caused by exposure to feces. Our guess is that either the day care is contaminated or her house. I was able to fill in for her most days, but it's getting very exhausting at this point. I don't waste my time giving any of my motherly/grandmotherly "advice" anymore, though...she's hopelessly clueless.

Co-worker's two smallest children (ages 1 and 3) are in diapers. Her school age kids, as well as co-worker, herself, have gotten it repeatedly so my guess is her house. My youngest grandson had pink eye a couple of times as a baby. A contaminated play rug was the cause, we discovered (even though DD had scrubbed it down repeatedly with Bac-Out after "blow outs"). She discarded it, and he never got it again.

And a host of others ways it can be caused. Please don't spread disinformation on the parenting sub forum. https://www.cdc.gov/conjunctivitis/about/causes.html
It can be difficult to eradicate in families or other group settings as it is so easily spread because of people touching objects after touching their eyes. Small children especially aren't known for their handwashing!
