We invite all real estate agents to create free blogs on our website (click on Blogs in the top navigation bar visible on all our forum pages). City-data.com gets around 11 million unique visitors (updated May 2009) per month and all your past and future forum posts will have links to your blog, so this can mean a lot of free exposure. Unlike in the forum posts, we allow one commercial link (or a phone number) in blog entries.
Here are our blog rules. They might be updated and changed in the future.
- Entries have to be original content, not published anywhere else previously
- No commercial links in Blog Description are allowed (a commercial link is a link to a page from which you could gain financial benefit, such as an affiliate link to Amazon or a real estate agent's link to her own website)
- At most one commercial link or other type of advertisement (such as a business phone number) is allowed per blog entry
- Entries containing commercial links or other types of advertisements must be at least 100 words long
- An entry cannot be created mainly for commercial purposes
- An entry cannot have repeating or irrelevant keywords, be nonsensical or otherwise appear spammy
- An entry cannot use hidden text or other tricks made for search engines
- An entry cannot be just a reworded version of a previous blog entry or of material published elsewhere
- No personal attacks, flaming, or insults are allowed
- Entries potentially defaming people or organizations are not allowed
- No entries that are obscene, vulgar, pornographic, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violate any laws
- No commercial links in blog comments
- Blogs on our site currently don't display ads, however this could change at any time
- The owners of City-data.com reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any blog, blog entry, or blog comment for any reason
- The owners of City-data.com are the final arbiters on what is spammy, insulting, commercial, defamatory, hateful, and on any other matter defined in these rules

No bomb-throwing, ear-chawing, groin-kneeing, bitin', gougin', kickin', or hair-pullin'. No talkin' junk about anyone's Momma. No wet Willies, no elbowin' down in the pile. No dealin' from the bottom of the deck.

No cryin'. "Decisions of the judges are final."
This just might be fun...
Thank you!
Mike J, if I am EVER out your way, I'm taking you out for lunch. You are too hilarious! I think we should add those to the AR rules...
I'd love to blog here, but I have 2 blogs, soon to add two more...I'm not sure I could be original 5 times. Now Mike J...he's original.

Aw shucks! I guess that leaves just plain 'ol arm wrestlin'. And I been practicin', so watch out!
Please help me - I just read a post asking for a realtor in FLA. My sister knows a very good realtor in that area but I'm afraid to post it. What to do?
You can reply to that person's post offering to make the connection and how to contact you. It's best to talk to them over the phone to get a feel for the situation and whether to make the connection.
This is a question regarding replying to a post. I am a real estate agent and if someone mentions the are moving to my area and looking for housing or something of that sort am I able to offer my services and my email contact?
No, you are not allowed to solicit business directly like that.
Trust us on that one.
You will be vaporized if you do that after warnings.

I have a question. How do you insert REALTOR or Real Estate Broker under your name? Duhhhh
Oops. Found another question. What is the reputation score? How do we get it and what does it mean? I guess I should try to find your FAQ's. Thanks
