Actually... have you asked? In this era of tight rental market, I have offered INCENTIVES to those who would like to vacate their apartment prior to lease renewal. It's Feb in Henderson.... and you are going to stay through the summer and into sept just to keep a lease (I'd ask... like 2 months ago!) With enough prior notice and a pristine departure that could be rented for MORE tomorrow... We're Happy to see tenants find their own happy place.

After spending 8 hrs to drive to Reno, consider the investment of driving 3.5 miles (5 minutes) to Sparks. Retired friends (for over 30 yrs) in the area much prefer Sparks to Reno. Carson City is a nice small town, but you may be driving to Reno a lot. Calculate that into your move and living expense.

Our very happy retired friends in Loveland missed you for Valentine's Day (We were busy stamping Valentines (since 1960))
Also retired friends in Sheridan, Cheyenne, Parker, and Jacksonville (Penney Farms) all say hi, and best wishes to you in your next move.

Consider doing it sooner than later.
Time is drawing nigh.

Then there will be that final move, 6 ft under.

We've been to the boat launch area and have never seen anyone launching a boat with a tube in it. And, from a few different views of the lake, we've never seen anyone water skiing or any water skis in boats at the launch ramp. Where the two marina's are, a large part of the lake is visable.

It was a looooong time ago, I was young & now I'm old. We went to Mohave more than Mead, weekend trips from LA. Lake Mohave was considered in the boonies then. I wouldn't be able to handle the heat or the crowds now, but it sure was fun. I know it's different now.

Listen to Stealth, you could break your lease if you want to. Henderson is very desirable for many, even in these crazy times. I wouldn't spend another summer there, too hot.

What? You've been going out to Lake Mead regularly since September and haven't launched your boat even once??? Definitely way past time to dump that boat then!

I wouldn't expect to see people tubing and water skiing on Lake Mead this time of year -- far too cold. Current water temp today is 52 degrees. You'd need a wet suit to tube in that! I'm guessing you didn't see people tubing and water skiing year round in Colorado lakes either.

Baby boomers, this popped up on my YouTube feed. It's a video walk through Carson City. Thought you and your wife might enjoy watching it to get a little preview. http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxf6MREuIJY

And, I may as well throw in a walk through Sparks too while I'm at it!

Heck, there's even one for Fallon:

Plenty more videos of the Northern Nevada area on YouTube. Since Babyboomers and his wife can't visit until this summer, I hope these will be helpful to them now.
