You know there ain't much hope when a PRISON can't make it there.
Yeah Marsh, the Bun Boy and also Pike's and the Watering Hole Saloon. My head pounds just remembering( or what I can remember) of that place.
Yeah , I would think a spa would be pretty silly. Tecopa is up the 127 where you have hot springs and mineral baths. Legal prostititution, gambling, guns, cannabis(?) and fireworks in Nye County Nevada, what could anyone need in Baker? Besides a place to poop, pee, eat, get fuel and get the f**k out. Besides it is quite common knowledge that Baker is what one might call a pretty tight knit place. You don't want to upset the apple cart of the folks who control much of the money making enterprises that already exist there.

Both of them.

I remember Pike's! Ahhh, more old memories, CrazyMan...

My friend in elementary school had an older sister who married her high school sweetheart. He got a job as fry cook at the Bun Boy in Baker & they moved there. I wonder how that worked out...

Not much in Baker, I was stuck there for a few days.......broiling heat and not much to do, bad combo.

Baker makes Barstow look like a paradise.

As for me, I wouldn't mind living in either. I know, I'm crazy.

Baker is basically just a small desert town in Southern California with a major freeway running through the middle that's on the way to Las Vegas. There's not much to do there but to possibly hang around the truck stop, do lots of drugs/meth, BAKE in the blazing hot sun, or just go around town to just randomly squat or vandalize people's property (either house or trailer). Is there even a police department up there, or what? Also literally BAKES in the summer, commonly above 120°F on end, due to its proximity to Death Valley. I stopped there a couple of times (Bob's Big Boy was great!), so trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

Still, I would not mind living there...
