I have alway wondered why if people hate a place do they stay there? I lived in LA for over 10 years and towards the end began hating it. I left when I had the first opportunity and moved to Florida.

There isn't a safe area anymore. Like Adam'smom said criminals have cars. The whole gated community thing is stupid also. If criminals want into a place they will find a way. Recently a gated community near me where the rich people live were hit with robberies. It turned out the guy robbing the homes lived in the community. If you live a life with fear then you are not living your life. Material things are just that things. Just keep you wits about you and don't go walking down a dangerous area alone at 3 am.

What does this have to do with this thread, just out of curiosity?

Only one Hispanic family? When's the last time you've been here? I'm not saying it's 80% or anything. There's families all over the southside of town here.

I wouldn't say "all over." They are in pockets, mostly in Garden City and off of Quacco Rd.

As far as not doing anything to attract crime, ie, having one's wits about one, using wisdom, going to the "right areas", I must say that my most recent attack occurred in my own driveway at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. The others occurred in a Kroger parking lot (again, Southside during daylight hours), downtown in Crawford Square while in the company of three other people i broad daylight, and another at Oglethorpe Mall parking lot, outside JC Penney's, also in broad daylight.

I have spent most of my life in Savannah and have never been a victim of a crime.
