1. You can click on comment reports and see what they had to say for the observation day.
2. Choose your dates
3. Click on "Total Precip" and it will sort from most to least for dates chosen. (might be a limit on the dates so do #4 instead.
4. Pick the station number closest to you and choose "Station precip summary" in left column. Enter the station and the dates and then sort by most. You might find what you're looking for.
It's fun seeing the differences in such short distances. Happens everywhere. Especially in summer. Just the way the atmosphere goes.
I think we're finally coming around to people realizing how much difference there is in precip & snow totals for such a small distance on the map. Then people will realize there are only a few select "official" stations out there that keep records. That's why it's best to get the proper rain gauge and start keeping track of your location.

Once I recorded 12 inches of rain (slow moving tropical storm, lots of flooding), but the official stations were outside the bands feeding off the ocean, and to this day have 2 inches as the rainfall.
In the 50s there was great hope that radar could be used to get an accurate idea of how much actual rain falls, since station data was known to be unreliable. Nothing ever came of it. We still use a few official stations, that do not cover an area at all.
Radar-estimated precipitation data is a thing. It's not always of the best quality, but it exists. See here for example: Mesonet | 30-day Rainfall Accumulation
Just realized that darksky.net will shut down in two months. Are there any viable alternatives for archives? I could name at least two websites with archives, but they're not accurate because the airports of cities are often climatically different from the CBDs of said cities.
It's weird there is nothing since spring. It's like an invisible kill mic motion was made. Reddit is that way too with just memes and video users now posting circlejerk crap. Phones have small screens and whatever you call the keyboard as it isn't a real keyboard. Phones also use up minutes up galore so I think that's another factor.
I've notice since the rise of phones posts are considerably shorter like yours. No real thought provoking discussion going on except on existing threads and the posts are again shorter.
