Description: With Italian-influenced American dishes, the Village isn’t breaking any new foodie ground here, but serves excellent classic 20th-century fare, and is a great place for families in Litchfield. You’ll see all the locals here. Get one of the comfortable high-backed booths and settle in for a hearty meal. The meat loaf (seriously) is excellent, and the poached mussels are a forgotten favorite. The Sunday a la carte brunch for a fixed price is a delicious bargain, and you can stuff yourself with pancakes, omelets, and sausages. If you’re in Litchfield in the evening, the taproom here is the place to hang out.
