Description: The Windfield Morgan Farm is set on 100 beautiful acres adjacent to Topsmead State Forest in Litchfield, and has been raising primarily Morgan horses (thus the name) since 1976. Many show champions have come from here, and their breeding program is well respected. But unless you’re looking to buy a horse, the adjunct Lee’s Riding Stable at the farm is probably what you’re interested in. The friendly horses are perfect for riding in the rolling hills of Litchfield, and guided riding tours are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 7 days a week. Call and make a reservation for up to 8 riders. Lee’s also offers a variety of lessons for riders of all ages, and gives pony rides to the very young horse lovers. The people and horses here are some of the friendliest you’ll find in the state.
