Description: The park is known for its unique ecosystems including dunes, seagrass beds, coastal hammocks, and mangroves, which are kept clean. Description: This park really is a center, housing a number of activites and facilities for people of all ages. The tennis courts play host to professionals and the golf course attracts locals and visitors alike. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the barrier island consists of an interesting array of ecosystems that are home to various wildlife and plants. The 2-mile beach itself is an attraction and eco-tours are offered for an extra charge. A few other activites include guided tours, kayak rentals, and self-guided trails and tours. Cabana rentals are also available.

Description: Visitors with boats can anchor overnight for $20 at this state park. Amenities are fairly bare bones—coin-operated laundry machines, cold rinse showers, and restrooms. Picnic pavilions and the park’s 2 restaurants are both viable dining options.

Description: Guided by a nature historian (also known as a naturalist), this canoe tour allows canoeists to observe reptiles and a wide variety of coastal shore birds in the Key Biscayne mangrove forests. Description: Cyclists can enjoy views of the Crandon’s pristine beaches while riding along the park’s bike path. Those looking for a more exciting afternoon can sign up for the Key Biscayne Bike Adventure, run by Eco Adventures. The 8-mile trip explores the barrier island, which used to be a home to pirates and the Tequesta Indians. 12. Diver’S Paradise

Description: Looking for an adventurous excursion? Diver’s Paradise gets divers to over 30 wrecks and artificial reefs. A 3-day PADI certification course is available for students who do not have scuba diving training. The course costs $499 and includes all rental equipment fees. A 2-week certification course, which holds classes in the evenings and dives on Saturdays, is also offered and costs $300. Rescue and Advanced Open Water courses are also available. For those who do not need certification, 2-tank excursions cost $60 plus gear rental. Night dives can also be arranged. In addition to scuba diving, Diver’s Paradise also has snorkeling trips, which cost $60 (including mask and snorkel rental).
