All snacks are purchased from a grocery store and prepackaged. Center is posting snacks in a conspicous spot of kitchen and filed for 90 days. Center is operating under the scope of its risk category 1 heatlh permit.

General Comments that relate to this Inspection Parents provide snacks for children at center. No violations observed at time of inspection. Cold holding non-NSF upright refrigerators recorded below 40 F. Thermometers present. Snacks served on disposeable ware. Reviewed snack menu for August and September. Snacks checked OK.Center has a one basin sink and is limited to food that can be served at center. Parents are agents acting on the behalf of the center. Parents providing snacks shall purchase food served at center from an approved source such as a grocery store prior to coming to center. Food used in the childcare center should not be stored in home residences. Kitchen observed clean and organized.

[3] CFPM or person in charge present; certificates posted as required Center director will be taking Certified Food Protection Manager Course to be able to conduct cooking projects with children at center. A written food safety plan must be completed for every cooking activity that is done at childcare center. A list of food protection manager instructors was given to director at time of inspection.
General Comments that relate to this Inspection All snacks that are provided into center must be individually packaged; single service for each individual child to be brought into the center for children. All food must be purchased prior to being brought into the center by parents. Do not conduct any food cooking projects or allow any foods other than the ones listed in flowchart #3 with the exception of cut fruits and vegetables at center until new and determined snack menu is approved by health inspector. Please call health inspector at 328-2682 when Certified Food Protection Manager Course is complete. Please bring passing test results; a picture ID and $32.00 to Washoe County Health located at 1001 E Ninth St.; in Reno to building B upstairs/Environmental Health.

A copy of Washoe County Food Instruction Managers left on site at time of inspection. Center may not prepare any food or do any cooking projects until a Certified Food Protection Manager is acquired.
General Comments that relate to this Inspection Please post snack menu on site for aqut least 3 months. Parents are acting on the behalf of the childcare center and must purchase snacks before arriving at childcare center. Parents may not prepare potentially hazardous foods and bring them into the center. For example; quesadillas; fresh fruit smoothies; finger sandwiches; grilled cheese squares; and other foods that do not fall under FLOW CHART #3 CANNOT BE SERVED AT THIS CHILDCARE CENTER UNTIL A Certified Food Protection Manager is on-site and at least a 30 hour employee.Director: Kim Mazy is intending to take course within 60 days. Until proof of completing a approved Certified Food Protection Manager course is verified the center may only serve the following foods at the childcare center:1) Cutting Fruit and vegetables; unless melons; leafy greens or tomatoes are being cut and (CENTER MAY NOT CUT FRUIT AND VEGETABLES DUE TO CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENT OF HAVING AT LEAST A MINIMAL 2 - COMPARTMENT SINK). This was reviewed during the permit processing in 2012. 2) Milk used as a beverage3) Milk poured onto cereal; and4) Precooked or pasterized potentially hazardous food items that are SINGLE SERVICE AND INDIVIDUALLY COMMERCIALLY PREPACKAGED FOOD ITEMS; which may be warmed in their original package for immediate served.5) Bulk dry snacks such as crackers; chips and cookies.Ceast and desist having parents and childcare premise prepare the foods listed on the Healthy Snack Ideas menu and limit food to the 5 listed above. Discussed with operator examples of type of foods that may be served under risk category 1 health permit for childcare center.At a minimum; a 2-compartment sink is needed for cutting fruits and vegetables at this center. This center is limited to only items 2-5 on this inspection form.
