Description: It’s always good to know where the wide-open spaces are when traveling with kids. Adjacent to the aquarium and IMAX Theater, these 17 acres of urban green space, public artwork, and brick pathways offer an up-close view of the Mississippi River and, perhaps more importantly, a place to relax while the kids run around when visiting the French Quarter. Festivals and open-air concerts are held here throughout the year. Note that some parts of the park may still be under construction, call first to see what areas are open. To get to the park: Take I–10 east to the Chalmette exit (LA 47). Head south to St. Bernard Highway and turn right.
