Also, you can search the Albuquerque forum here for times these questions have already come up. For instance, on hiking check here: Hiking in ABQ? Our area is a hiker's dream, and is great for dogs.

Then search biking, etc.

Welcome to our town!

The road cycling is fairly good if you can get away from the traffic. There are a good bit of bike lanes in the city and there are maps of all the bike lanes found in most bike shops. I work at the new shop at Menaul and San Mateo so you can always stop in and we could help you find a good safe route for you to explore. There is also a good womens cycling club in the area called Women Riding Well. The hiking also seems to be some of the best around and is extremely safe.

The closest hiking is Sandia. I see a lot people with dogs. I even saw a woman hiking La Luz with a dog. It's one of the more difficult trails. So your dog should be fine. It's a popular spot with lots of people, so you should be safe, especially with a dog. You can get trail maps online, or buy a book at a local book store. In general, the backside of the mountain is much prettier than the front.

The city is good and bad for cycling. There are a lot of bike lanes and a couple paved multi-use trails. They don't always connect up well. Some connections are more dangerous than others. The biggest problem is a lot of drivers are hostile towards cyclists. They'll pass and turn in front of you, pull out in front of you, honk at you and even swerve towards you.

Default exciting things to do in albuquerque?

I know albuquerque don't got no six flags, or pros sports

i know albuquerque don't have any good water parks

i know about all the casinos already. I love albuquerque

but the only thing that would make me wanna move is to me lack of excitement

i know it has lots of culture, and great food, and unlimited outdoor stuff

but besides going to isotopes games, lobo games, what else is there to do?

correct me if im wrong but albuquerque is lacking in the excitement dept.

if you can list stuff that's fun to do (besides going to the gym and going out doors or going to casino/isotope/lobo games/) let me know what's available?

thx

Unfortunately, I don't think I can convince you to move here.

In a way, I equate excitement with hype, and there isn't a lot of hype here.

mt971, you pretty much listed everything that would be considered excitement. Except for going to a few clubs downtown, that's it. Albuquerque is a nice little city, with the beautiful surrounding landscape, fantastic weather, outdoor activities, AAA baseball team, UNM and abundant Native American history. But if you're looking for excitement, head to San Diego, LA, or Chicago, NY or Miami.
