Went up to my old friend-from-high-school's place in Orchards, up near the Silver Star grade school (Crestline's evil twin). That's about a 12-mile ride one way, over several fairly steep grades yet, from where I am. At the time of this post, I returned home from that ride approximately half an hour ago.

And whilst I was there he gave me his one of these--

--left over from late in his/our days of B/MX, and which had changed hands at least twice before it entered mine. Still in decent shape and fits my 6'8" 285# frame perfectly. That's some proper riding gear, that is. Cool.

Finally back riding again after busting myself up real good in May -- hit a pothole and broke my hip. Did one of my usual routes yesterday and according to Strava managed a personal record on the biggest hill (Main Street in Great Notch, NJ), and this with my backup bike. I am BACK.

Holy cow, nybbler, a broken hip is no joyride! Glad to see you're back at it!

I decided to resurrect this.

Today I rode around town. I met a few friends for breakfast in the next neighborhood over. We walked around, had lunch and then I did my errands: the bank and a little shopping.

I rode about 5 miles.

Outfit: jeans, fancy t-shirt, oxfords and a scarf.

I rode 17 miles from my house through Atherton, Stanford and over to Menlo Park.

It was a beautiful ride seeing all the trees that had turned into the fall colors.

This is the usual route that we take for exercising and enjoying the beauty of the Bay Area.

Today I did a short ride, temp was about 77. Found a trail a few weeks ago in our local park and decided to ride it once again. But 4 inches of rain a few nights ago made it a short and wet ride. Still enjoyed it though.
