They already ruined the first one with that ridiculous love story that was almost as important as the sinking of the ship. Give me the original from the 1950s any day.
^^^This. I enjoy an informative documentary but to take such a tragic event and turn it into a trite and unbelievable love story=no. To make matters worse, my own grandmother was fleeing from poverty in England and was supposed to come third class on the Titanic. So it's not amusing to me.
What do you propose will be the premise of the new Titanic movie?
Agree. I agree with everyone else. The OP must not have fully thought through what he was asking because there wouldn’t be any story for a “Titanic 2.†The only possibility would be a “remake,†and that would be doomed from the start since the original was such a classic.
I've always wondered why there has never been a blockbuster George Washington movie. He was literally a real life action hero. His biography would be an amazing story. But with sensibilities where they are now, we're lucky his name isn't banned.
In the movie Sweet Liberty, a character says there are three things that sell movies: defying authority, destruction of property, and people taking off their clothing.
This time with the ship broken in half it could make for an interesting movie as to how they would raise it.
This was actually a great book. A big Cussler fan here.
Unfortunately, his books won't do well as movies (Sahara was also pretty bad). Perhaps a Netflix or Prime short series. You simply can't do his stories justice in just 2 hours.
I'm guessing this thread was more tongue in cheek. But there are almost limitless historical events that you can essentially use the same Cameron formula like Titanic and Pearl Harbor. Maybe the Hindenburg, WTC (too soon?), the Tsunami in 2004, Pompeii, SS Mont Blanc in Halifax, etc...
