I don't remember. I get one bill a month for all city utilities, which is water, sewer, electric, and trash, and I usually don't look a the details very close unless the total is way above or below the norm.

I do know that my minimum is 2000 gallons a month, and I'm always comfortably under the minimum. I think it's just over $20 but not sure.

For the past 7 years, I've averaged $16-20/month for water & sewer with an average of 7.8k gallons per month. I'm lucky that my water municipality doesn't have a minimum charge and has some of the lowest rates in my area. My co-worker's water and sewer bills are awful--and that's just the monthly minimum charges.

i pay 25-30 a month. a good chunk of that is a fixed charge and the rest is based on usage. when i had a family of 4 staying with me for a week it went to 50, so more people means more showers.

thank you all : )

this gives me a good perspective on where i stand regarding my own savings and cost-benefit compared to the rent i pay. condos for rent in new york do not include heat and hot water while buildings (mostly ghetto buildings/tenements like those from the industrial revolution era) always have it included in rent.

this past winter, i shut off my fridge (unplugged it) and just kept my pasta sauce outside my window (i mostly ate pasta that month) to prevent bacterial growth. that's all i needed to refrigerate. anyhow, my electric bill dropped only by about $20 to $30 that month. totally not worth it.

My water bill runs @ $25/month. However, when I water my yard (which is rarely), the bill can be as high as $200 because Harris County TX charges a sewer rate on all water used and that represents 1/2 of the water bill.

About $25 in the winter, rising to about $125 in the hottest summer months when we irrigate our lawn. This may be the year when we finally xeriscape the remainder of our yard.
