Can someone explain to me how the stadium would ruin the site plan? By the way, Cabela’s made Magnolia a better development. It is still terrible, but Cabela’s made it better.

I agree.

It's not. That development is already different from what you see at Magnolia. Magnolia changed plans before they built it. Bridgeway is under construction with the plans they presented with a good sized interesting building going up right now.

The soccer team only averaged 984 fans in 2020. Most of them probably live in Greenville.

Do you see a stadium on the current site plan? I sure don’t. Something has to be removed to make way for it.

I would be more likely to go to something like this than say a Drive game or Swamp Rabbits game. I used to love going downtown but downtown has become awful. Every time you turn around downtown someone is bumming for money from you. I would rather see this somewhere like Bridgeway if its architecture fits the vibe that was originally planned.

Now I don't totally think tax payers should be on the hook for it either. Then again I think the city thinking we need another convention center downtown is nonsense also. I mean they planned a huge update to our zoo and that's seen barely anything done with it. Honestly I think we need more accountability for the money and projects we have going on right now but this city is growing fast and they are trying to cram in everything for everyone, so they will keep doing pet projects and denying stuff like this because its not in the middle of the city.

That was the year of COVID restrictions on attendance. Throw it out.

Personally I am glad. The stadium should be downtown not in the suburbs.
I don’t understand. I thought you hated our downtown and everything about Greenville,

Huh? I never said I hated downtown. I do think the roads and litter in this area could be better maintained though. I also think there shouldn’t be any empty retail or restaurant spots downtown.

Which is why locating it near the suburbs would draw more fans. Soccer tends to be a more suburban sport. As I drive around, I see more kids playing soccer in church and school yards than I see them playing baseball.

It certainly feels more natural to have a baseball stadium located near the city center.
