Publix Tiramisu Ice Cream! Love that stuff. Miss that, their cheese straws and their sandwiches.

I've noticed that rich indulgences like like art galleries and quant shops are definitely more prevalant vs Knoxville. That said, there are no more rich people here than there, people just seem more likey to treat themselves to stuff like that.

Also, there's no Kroger or any other grocer that's "Kroger quality," so Publix had that going for them before they moved here. They'd have to certainly compete with Kroger in Knoxville.

I've never entered Publix, I'm assuming it's pricer?
Actually, Knoxville's average household income is higher than Chattanooga. I think the fact that Kroger came early and established a strong hold here is probably the reason.

My friend in Nashville lives near a Publix, so I'm making a shopping list. Chocolate stars, Ice cream.... Last time I came home with Costco potstickers in one of those plug in coolers, wonder how ice cream would fare?

Soon you may be able to shop at Costco in Chatt. Heard from a reliable source in our local Costco that although Costco is not ready to make the announcement, Chatt is the next TN market for them.

Makes sense. Chattanooga just seems more Costco than Knoxville. Once Costco comes to Chatty and Knox, I'll look for one in Johnson City!

Yeah, I should have bought some, but I am on a diet and didnt want to blow it... now I wish I had of got at least 5 or 6.

Publix brand ice cream is amazing. We had some at the party and everyone was commenting on how great it was, as was my little cousins cake... photos of the delicious Publix cake.... This was Saturday, its history now.

Above and to the left, you can see some of that ice cream on the plate... not sure what flavor it was, but it was getting rave reviews.

How I longed for some of those stars, but I didnt want to blow my diet!

I grew up 25 miles from Publix headquarters in Florida. That's one of a very few things i miss from Florida. They have the absolute best hands-down bakery. I loved getting a birthday cake from there every year. Kroger is nice, but i would definitly jump ship and shop at Publix. They had the best subs too. Cuban pressed.. mmmmhh... even better than most Cuban places in Tampa i used to eat at!

I have heard rumors that they have already bought it, but not announcing until later in the year. Who knows.
