How about this place all the way out in the boonies of Grafton. Originally asked for 629k back in July, just cut it to 500k a few days ago. 500k is still substantially more what the seller paid in 2019 (374k). Not really that updated either and it sure looks like a place built in 1900.
Did you check out street view? I think the biggest issue with that home is who in the world is gonna want to mow that huge sprawling lawn? Also, it's on a busier street and inside of course needs some updating. Looks nice, well maintained outside though.

The house looks like a bargain to me. We have more land than that and we mow it ourselves.

And no pictures of the inside. Huge red flag.

You could build 2 or 3 new houses in that front yard, and the driveway could be a road.

But as for the house, that bathroom (picture 27) makes me feel claustrophobic. And those are bedrooms? Looks like a converted attic.

North of the city isn't much better than Braintree price wise, it's actually worse....$680K gets you this basic ranch on a solid double yellow road.

Lynn might be one of the few places left in the state where you can still get a house in the $300K range!

$2.475M in Newburyport....nice house but a postage stamp lot and neighbors within an arms length on all sides! No thanks, I'd want some land and more greenspace for that price point!

I guess Wakefield is kind of the North Shore equivalent of Braintree?

Yes, except it has less crime and less of a city vibe compared to Braintree.
