Hence $2M+ for a home in lil Newburyport, MA is not normal!!
Do you know what median means?

Half the homes in MA are not below $412K and half are not above $412K. It's more like 85% are above $412k! Goes to show how outrageous prices are here!

Don't be ridiculous. Nobody said anything like that.

It's crazy. That Newburyport house might be one of the more ridiculously priced homes I've seen on here in a while. It's nice on the inside but the outside and surroundings are awful.

What's bugging me about the exterior of the house itself is it looks like it's 2 different shades of cream color...like I'm trying to figure out did they run out of paint or had trouble matching or was that intentional(check out pic 1 on the listing)?

Also, I just zoomed in on street view and I agree...this is not one of Newburyport's nicest streets. Newburyport has a lot of gorgeous 1800s homes (mainly on High Street for the real show stoppers). The street this one is on looks like it could be somewhere in Lynn if I didn't know any better to be honest...like triple decker style !

Why are you using the US median price to compare to MA?

MA is part of the US isn't it?

"A starter home in Hawaii is 1.2 million dollars when the median home in the US is 400k." Outrageous!

How about this one in Marblehead $5.5M to be able to get on a yacht from your own deep water dock right outside your door....already pending too! I don't like that there's no frontage from the street...it's literally right on the street no front yard area at all, not even a garage and just one tiny off street parking spot! Nice harbor views but kind of underwhelming for the price. You can find much more impressive waterfront properties in Maine for less. https://www.coldwellbankerhomes.com/.../pid_55271146/
