They dont want additional traffic, crowded schools, more crowded beaches, etc. Who could blame them? When you pay a lot of money for something you don't want it ruined.

People are going to move to MA anyways.

Well at least everybody seems to agree that it's absolutely criminal, to leave places like the South Weymouth NAS and an unused area of the SSP parking lot empty. And at least in the prior, I think the town would be cooperative with proper support from the state.

I don't know if I'd call it criminal...but sure I have no issue with additional housing going in the SSP parking lot. Any idea why it hasn't been built yet? Would you want to live in an apt building next to the south shore mall? I'm guessing some might not mind but...that would be a congested area for sure. It's already bad.

Weymouth has been quite built up over the years...but it seems like it's been built up with expensive high end style housing.

I think it was an issue with the adjoining residential area. People complaining that the new apartments would be visible from their yards.

It's always been built up. And it's not like they'd be bulldozing a beautiful farm or something. It's a damn crumbling runway.

and more has been added to weymouth and Quincy also...but people are still whining about a lack of housing. It's like nothing is enough until every damn town has the right amount of multi unit housing catering to anyone who wants to live there. There are multi unit complexes everywhere...i was in Scituate recently and was surprised by how many are there...and they're ugly! but they're there for people to live in.

In Quincy it's out of control.

I've gone there. It's hilarious. It looks like a movie set. I think if they had built SFH there it would have gone OK but it's not very appealing for the people who want expensive apartments. Developer had to learn that lesson the hard way apparently.

My home state. Hampshire county to be exact. Massachusetts is not the same state it was .
It is so expensive, over regulated, disrespects the Bill Of Rights (especially the 2nd) has forgotten its beginnings (Mayflower Compact).

Conservatives are fleeing to get away from the liberal God and Constitution rejecting stronghold that the state once known as the “ cradle of Liberty” has become.

Are you saying SFH homes should have been built in the SPP parking lot? Or South weymouth NAS?

Bill Delhunt parkway that runs through rockland and weymouth I believe is another spot that would seem like a useful place to put housing. But no, the state just wants to smash more people into Milton and marshfield for whatever reason. Truly maddening.
