Hello lovely Maui people,
Is Rt. 340 still considered a white-knuckler to use up and around and then down to Kahului?
Haven't been there in quite a while.

Curfew 10p - 6a when road will close.

You are not allowed to go to Lahaina.
Due to people not following the rule the road was closed in both directions starting at 4pm.

Probably not a good idea. The state is discouraging all non essential travel to Maui.
If their destination was Lahaina or beyond such as Kaanapali area, definitely not.

Kahekili Highway has had a substantial amount of paving, lane marking and other upgrades done in the past 7 years. One certainly can drive it, but not be in a rush. Also, take under consideration there's an excessive amount of traffic going both ways this week.

In Kahakuloa you can still get banana bread and icee's at Julia's Best Banana Bread stand. Other favs are
dried mango, fried taro chips, and coconut candy.

NOT a good idea. Tourists should consider Maui closed for now. The state and local governments have asked tourists to re-book elsewhere, and locals are on social media begging people to stay away right now. Suggest that they rebook their trip to stay on another island.

I mean, he's worth $160 billion. So percentage-wise, this is like a normal millionaire donating $600.

She already said she would donate directly to the people.
What I want to know how she was able to purchase 2000ac on the island
And FYI - Bezos may have a home on the island, BUT he's not there. He's on his "sailboat" in the Med

.
Thanks trinity - I believe the most challenging part is still one-lane though.

I wonder if emergency vehicles are/have been using it.

I'd think it would be commandeered for those and some other cautious/slow commercial vehicles ONE-WAY only certain times of the day.

This is reminding me now of the great, terrifying movie "The Wages of Fear".
