It's such a shame this website doesn't allow photos of renderings.
Technically true, but it also depends on who's moderating. One former mod here on the NC forum and most of it's subforums was very anal about the rules (to the point of nearly having meltdowns at times) while a current one is a bit more lenient and seems to take things on a post-by-post basis, which I much prefer. I'll say no more than that.
I agree. It can be a bit on the extreme side when posting material. Like I said, most forums have a policy that you are allowed to post material that is not yours as long as you source it and not post it as your own. Heck there are a few "major" urban forums that dont even care and let you post material without sourcing it. But I think most posters would not have a problem sourcing a photo or rendering they post. I think this thread would be more active if allowed. Its hard to get interested in a development thread without seeing renderings/photos and many dont want to have to go through a chain of links to see them.
With Dave and Busters already there. IKEA and Wegmans coming. CTC will soon give the other area malls a real run for the money. At this point it's next to last. Northgate being dead last IMO.
A statewide thread is fine, IMO. But I think large projects should be the focus. No we don't need to hear about a new McDonald's opening in Charlotte, but a new 20 story tower or performing arts center is probably noteworthy.
A 20 story building is usually 250 feet tall or higher. If my count is correct, Charlotte currently has 39 (250-footers) standing with 6 more on the way between now and 2021. My guess is that Charlotte might have 50 by 2025.
Also, Dave and Busters just opened their 3rd NC location at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville. The other 2 NC locations are Concord and Cary.
Not going to happen, but I rather have had an Earth Fare uptown than Whole Foods. Though, obviously Whole Foods has more solid foundations thanks to Amazon.
I was walking down through NC State just this past weekend and saw the new urban Target firsthand. Gotta admit i actually like it quite a bit. I do wonder whats going in the open space below it..
I was also surprised but excited to hear about the AC Hotel coming to Glenwood South. It will be the second one in Raleigh. The one in North Hills looks pretty nice and ive been wanting to try that rooftop bar and lounge.
