Not particularly development but skyscrapers. The Wells Fargo building is amazing. I wish we had a 40 floor copy cat in Charlotte.

Nice photos.

Duke Energy tower is my favorite in NC. Frankly, i think its one of the nicest towers in the US. Reminds me so much of the Shanghai World Financial Center.

A nice downtown Raleigh redevelopment. Nothing huge but a nice example of adding new but keeping the character of the old.

It’ll really be 13 tall high rises but this article highlights 7 under construction not counting the 40 floor Mint, 30 floor ascent & the two office towers, 25 floor AC Hotel, 20 floor Tryon Park Hotel, 16 floor Springhill, 25 floor Skyhouse II that was finished this year

The Charlotte skyline will change yet again, thanks to these seven new buildings

...

New buildings have sprouted along Charlotte’s skyline this year like mushrooms after a fall rain

...

But the city’s skyline isn’t done growing – far from it. And the next year is going to bring a crop of new buildings that will further add to fast-growing Charlotte’s vertical profile.

Read more here: New skyscrapers are coming to Charlotte's skyline next year | Charlotte Observer

I’ve posted renderings of the buildings somewhere on this thread but not Intercontinental Hotel. Completely forgot about it.

N&O selling downtown Raleigh building to California group | News & Observer

News & Observer site downtown Raleigh finally sold. There was a deal on this property already that fell through but those developers requested a rezoning for 40 floors at this location. The new company that just completed the sale also owns the 29floor BB&T tower. With the price at $22m for this property, surely they have big plans for it as well. If Raleigh is going to get a new tallest tower downtown in the next 20 years, this would be the spot to put it.

I hope a new tallest wouldn’t be a mixed use building. I don’t care for big skyscrapers to have a fat office base topped by a narrow section with balconies.

IMO only Austin buildings nice signature towers that are residential or mixed use.

Austonian is a fantastic looking building and amongst my favorites in the US

I’d like the new tallest in Raleigh to be a nice slender residential tower, ~48 floors.

I just dont know if theres quite the market yet for an all residential tower of that size. I can see a couple more around skyhouse size. But we'll have to see. This site definitely will be mixed use though sounds like. Hopefully its a beautful tower whether its the new tallest or not.

Stonewall St. a year ago on the left hand side was just the Westin building.

The entire street of stonewall under construction except 1 parcel.
Here’s what’s being built in the order from West to East literally all side by side

Legacy Union Bank of America Tower (renderings for the other 4 towers for this should be out soon. 2 30 floor apartments & a 20 floor office tower will start soon)

Ally Financial Tower is starting, Stonewall/Tryon being closed for a month for utility relocations and it goes vertical in Jan.

Regions Bank Tower just finished

Stonewall Station/Whole Foods

Home2 Hotel

Northwood
