LOL. I don't think he does shaves, just haircuts. So there would be one line of cars. When you get to the front of the line, it would be your turn to go in.

It's like In-N-Out Burger or one of these other fast food drive-throughs. He could even have someone taking pre-orders and serve them drinks while they wait. Maybe get a latte and cut combo. lol

Well Phase 1 has certainly been successful in Newport. They just got 124 new cases. I guess they will move on now to Round 2, I mean Phase 2.

Oregon now has record high number of new cases. This is just getting started.

Quote:
Pacific Seafood on Sunday disclosed that 124 of its employees and local contractors have tested positive for coronavirus in what is the second largest workplace outbreak of the virus in the state to date.

The number reported by the business is nearly twice what the Oregon Health Authority initially reported Sunday morning. An Oregon Health Authority spokesman said the state pulls the data once a day and that the number of confirmed positives had risen since it collected the data early Sunday.

The public health investigation into the outbreak began June 2, according to the state. State officials said the initial tally fell below the threshold for public disclosure, which the state set at more than five cases in workplaces with more than 30 workers.

The disclosures of outbreaks at various businesses came as the state Health Authority reported the highest number of confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases to date. The state on Sunday reported 146 new cases and one new death. The second-highest number disclosed on a single day was 100 cases on April 4.

Meanwhile here in Taiwan the coronavirus pandemic is over. Haven't had a new case in over two months. "Final" death toll is 7 dead out of a population of 24 million. Never needed a lockdown. Businesses and schools open and operating normally the whole time.

A local research institute crunched the data and determined that the "break even" point for containing the virus was a minimum of 80% of the population wearing surgical masks. Social distancing wasn't an option because the country is too densely populated. 95% of the population voluntarily wore surgical masks during the pandemic and health care workers had ample supplies of PPE so the coronavirus was squashed like a bug.

Please. Oregon is my home state and I hate to see Oregonians suffering needlessly.

Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Deputy Director-General Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥), who is also CECC spokesman, reported the findings of a simulation study conducted by Academia Sinica and CDC researchers using a scenario in which the “new disease prevention lifestyle” was applied, as well as the responding mitigation plan.

The study used a simulation model for influenza virus transmission as its basis, categorized the population into five age groups based on a previous study suggesting different interpersonal contact patterns among the groups and referred to parameters used this year in a British study on COVID-19 to set a possible scenario, Chuang said.

The scenario assumed relaxed border controls, resulting in about one new imported case every five days, an incubation period of 5.1 days and a basic reproduction number of 2.4, he said.

Under the scenario, if two people close to each other both wear masks, the risk of infection can be reduced by 70 percent, by 45 percent if only one of them wears a mask and by 69 percent if they keep a distance of at least 1.5m indoors, he added.

As Taiwan has a hospital isolation room capacity of about 3,000, under the scenario, the nation’s healthcare system would become overwhelmed if mask-wearing compliance falls below 60 percent, Chuang said.

The healthcare system can function normally for only 200 days if the rate is about 70 percent, he said, adding that the rate must be above 80 percent for the healthcare system to be safe.

Totally agree. Wear masks and have nice things like an economy. Apparently, that is just too hard for Americans to grasp. Let's all be defiant teenagers so that we can tank our economy instead. I'll show the virus who is boss!

I think the last few weeks of mob silliness have taken any argument about gov't demands to Social Distance and mask up away. It has now been shown that leadership is more about entrenching control and creating a narrative than helping people by managing a pandemic.

You cannot claim that folks can't go to a store but it perfectly ok to riot/loot and protest.

The curtain has been pulled back on blue Gov't leadership and it ain't pretty.

Be patient. We'll catch up to Florida eventually. Have you had your hair cut yet?
