2014 10 or 12 day trip to London and Paris, first class all the way, about $25k for the two of us. But to be fair, that included an expensive side trip to the Diamond District in London.
In retrospect, money well spent.

Two week Alaskan Cruise. It was a back to back cruise from starting and ending in Canada. Two people. Airfare, pretrip hotel, and cruise around $10K. Retirement and 65th birthday celebrations.
My wife and I stayed at Camp Denali North Face lodge for a couple nights back in the 90's during an interior Alaska road trip. Can't remember what the rate was, maybe $300 or more per night? It seemed quite high at the time, but not absolutely out of sight as it is today. If you've got the cash, this is the way to see the Park. Well, maybe throw in a flight seeing trip too. We did that on our second visit about 10 years ago.
"2024
June 3 - September 9, 2024 $1,325/night/person + tax. Rates are all-inclusive once on site at Camp Denali. Children under 12 are 75% of this rate."
I've spent about $6k, $8k, and $10k on Hawaiian vacations for two over the last 20 years, each trip was 7 or 8 days. Spent $5k in 5 days on Grand Cayman Island which was also a trip for two.
In June of 2022 my wife and I chartered a 1931 restored wooden yacht for a seven day Alaska Inside Passage trip from Juneau to Sitka. We invited six of our relatives to join us for the trip. Cost for the boat charter, plane tickets for my wife and me, hotel for two nights in Juneau and one in Sitka was about $63k
Planning on doing another one next September for the gathering of the humpbacks in Frederick Sound for feeding before they head south. Have invited some friends for this one.

A friend spent ~$80k to take a month-long trip around Africa in a chartered DC3.
Remote dirt airstrips and mud huts in the bush, to 5 star wildlife safari lodges. He said he wished he wouldn't have waited to age 80 the do it. But he was very busy with other wonderful adventures previously.
On the other side of this spectrum.. we've had very interesting and meaningful (free) holidays doing volunteer service around the world. Often incorporating with an international business assignment (so no expense for self or family).
Money cannot buy happiness, or assure an excellent vacation. It's just a tool. +/-
