The waterfalls are really raging with spring runoff. Today was sunny and a great day for waterfall hiking or riding in the Gorge.

Awesome pictures! Where were they taken? How risky is it to kayak there, I have only been a few times in my life.

This is Spirit Falls. I am only taking pictures, not kayaking. These are very advanced kayakers and its also very risky if not at their level. Jumping off waterfalls is dangerous but amazing to watch.

Another nice spring day to get out and enjoy the great PNW weather this time of year. Here are a few photos today's paddle.

Vancouver had a surprise late season snow today. I decided to enjoy it paddling out on the lake with calm waters and lots of birds enjoying it as well - not another human in sight.

Well, I said yesterday will likely go down as the wildest weather day of the year in Vancouver and I stand by that. But today had some crazy weather as well, just no snow or thunder at least in Vancouver. Hail, wind, clouds, rain, blue skies, big beautiful clouds and a colorful sunset. So, still quite a fun day of variety overall. It brought flashbacks of living in CO where the weather changes rapidly a mile+ up on the continental divide.

Think I saw you had been in VanWa for a few years from CA. Are you enjoying the grayer weather and rain after all this time or do you miss the CA coast?

Yep, we're loving here including enjoying having 4 real seasons. Gotta have all the rain and clouds if you want the kind of green we enjoy as a result.

Regarding the coast, the Oregon coast is amazing and not too far of a drive for a day trip or weekend getaway.

Today was one of those epic days on the Columbia River when the beauty blows you away. Spring colors illuminated by the warming sun, snow in the hills, explosive looking cumulus clouds, deep blue sky, warming water temps and sheet glass makes you want to jump in and paddle. And no one out but me, the eagles and the baby birds flying all around as I paddle. I wonder if those little birds are a spring thing?

We've had mild temps this Easter Sunday with blue sky followed by some high clouds and sun throughout the day. It was a great day for a family walk through our local forest. Trillium are starting to bloom now as well.
