I'm at the Mark Twain Cave Campground for tonight. $22+ tax for the night, so a good deal. It's not quite what I expected. Sites are close together and really not my cup of tea but, will start out early tomorrow and see some of the sites. Then head south again. I plan on avoiding St Louis, too many crime reports.

It has been great following the Mississippi. What a beautiful view.

The cat is adjusting well to the travel.

I made it through St Louis, didn't stop. Now I'm at a really beautiful city park. They really put a lot of thought into it. Play area and baseball courts on one side, picnicking on the other.

My Dad served in the Army. We lived in Fort Leonard Wood MO & he taught a class when we lived in Pine Lawn County (St. Louis).
We enjoyed much fishing in MO & went exploring some beautiful/awesome/ COOL caves...
Drive Safely, Meo.

Meo - Shame shame on you for not reporting in more frequently. You must check in and let us know you're OK. That's the rule.

Sorry Umbria. Tonight I'm in Beaumont, TX. Beautiful city. I was looking for a park and saw a sign for tourist information. I couldn't find the building so stopped at a gas station. They didn't know but a policeman was filling up and I asked him. He directed me to the Convention Center and Tourist Information. They werre very nice and directed me to a park, which is also nice. I was able to sleep next to it. Restful and peaceful.

Today I'm going to explore the town a bit. Not much because it gets warm and I won't leave Marigold (cat) in a hot car. Having her with me has hampered exploration but, I don't mind. She enjoys looking out the window at the different sites.

I don't always have internet, even with Verizon wireless and a jetpack so can't always post.
