I have a lot of old pottery and china marks reference books. I’ll get upstairs later and see what I can see.

It would help to have a photo of the piece itself. Just to help out with how old the piece might be and where it was made.

I am fairly certain the top is suppose to look like that. Like a frosted, snow type effect with a light spattering of gold.
Still sitting here above my computer.

The picture helps a lot. From the bottom, I thought it was stoneware, not porcelain. I did not find the mark, though.

The piece is very old. It's not stoneware. It's porcelain.

Ooooh, the decoration is lovely. Odd combo of realistic nature and then the Asian looking curvy stuff on the top.

Old, before they were required to put the country's name on it? English or French? Now I wish I could find some of my old books to look it up in.

There is also and impressed number on it. Ooops, not anymore... just kidding.
Might be 18th century. Or earlier..... Then again it might be much more recent....fake Target

It is decorated the same way if I turned it around. The gold is raised a bit.

Do you think that's it? Interesting because I never knew they produced porcelain object in Ohio! I usually think of earthenware like Roseville pottery. And it's not marked so it could be USA--if it came from another country after a certain date, it would have country of origin.
