I live in the SF Bay Area and normally I never turn on the heat in April, but I did this month. We had some chilly and rainy days that were more like February than April. But we're not complaining because we needed the rain. The forecast is sunny and in the high 60s to high 70s for the next week, so I think the heating season is over.

Yesterday it hit 70F, this morning when I got up it was just above freezing at 35, now it's sunny and 66. The furnace is not coming on during the day as much as normal for this time of year, but we are still getting cold nights.

I don't really turn it off, but we've had it at 63 all year and it hasn't turned itself on in a few weeks.

May 1. Usually I'll get one month of no heating or cooling in the spring, but the past few years the AC has been needed before June 1, yet April isn't really warm enough to turn off the heat a little early.

AC goes off October 1; heat goes on November 1.

I have it set at 73 and it won't be turned off until it's not coming on at 73. Yesterday I was freezing, so turned it up to 75. I'd really prefer 80 degrees, but my husband would riot - although the older he gets, the more HE feels cold, and sometimes he's the one who turns it up, or starts the gas fireplace, or puts wood in the wood stove.

We had just a fine mist of snow that did not stick in Wooster. Further north they had up to 3" and got out the salt trucks. So, yes, of course the heat is still on. I mowed 2 days ago and had to wear long pants, a medium weight coat, hat with ear flaps, and gloves.

Well being so it's finally stopped snowing here in Denver, it's lowered down to 65. It's normally at 69. This week is supposed to be decent so I'll probably end up turning it off for now
