I can't think of anything. I usually have to spend a lot on something to get much joy out of it.

I am talking about stuff. I get enormous joy from many free things from sitting on a beach watching the waves come in, to a beautiful sunset, to a slow walk taking in the lights of beautiful homes and buildings. I get enormous joy from many free experience, but when it comes to "stuff" it seems to be, I get what I pay for.

It was not real cheep but i got a Dewlat battery blower since i had deal tools. Boy i use that thing 4-5 times a week blowing off driveway, porch, back door proch where the dogs hangout, the pool deck ( oak trees are now shedding) the mower, the garage etc. I uses to drag the old 120v one with 100 foot extension cord around. One of the few battery operated devices that really work.

A set of three motion activated, battery operated, stick on lights for $7.95 from Amazon. Now, when I open my dark hall closet in the evening, I can actually see to get my coat out!!! Used the other two in a couple of other dimly lit closets....a great bargain!

I'm recommending the Casio GA2100 series of G-Shock watches. Inexpensive ? Well, for instance, they are a small fraction of the cost of a FC Worldtimer (FC-718WM4H4).

Actually, the watch is larger than I want
.

Quail eggs. Sad, how little it takes to thrill me these days. I’ll be making a nibbles board and butternut squash soup for appetizers on Thanksgiving, and the hard boiled quail eggs will be such a cute addition. Peel it and dip in either celery salt or kewpie mayonnaise.

I had seen them in the store and wondered what in the world do you do with them? Then I saw a show that used them this way.

A while back I bought 2 bottles of hand sanitizer for $0.10 each. I only got 2 because I didn't know if the price on it was actually for real. But it was.

Picking apples at an orchard on the Blue Ridge Parkway, probably $20 and they include a nice woven basket.
My garage fridge is full of apples and I have lots of apple recipes to make all winter long because I am RICH with apples.

Also joy from buying 2 child's toys--one is a Hungry Caterpillar wood puzzle with about 4 pieces and the other is a flat wood apple shape with holes drilled and a wooden worm attached with a string that can be pushed through the apple. Both toys were about $8 each and quite nice and colorful. Great for toddler great-nieces coming to visit to play with.

Twenty good quality, rechargeable AAA-batteries for $20, free shipping.

eBay is a great place......the competition for sales and the seller rating-system make it
one of the best places for me to shop.

Brick & mortar seems to have gone whole-hog with price-gouging...to the point
where it seems like a scam.
