Bought a cheapo, yet nicely featured 2-channel digital-storage-oscilloscope, that has very good reviews, directly from China, for $84 plus tax, free shipping.

Thank you China!

I just plugged in a new grow light, a long, skinny, cheap one. My starts have outgrown the area that my existing light covered.

I'm starting tomatoes, that I always grow, and this year added petunias and herbs. I usually buy the flag petunias and they are $$$ and the fresh herbs at the market are $2 for a very tiny amount and sometimes I need 2-3 packets of them for a recipe. So, I hope that I will be saving a lot of money by growing my own petunias and herbs.

Besides hoping to save some money, growing plants is a fine hobby and pretty darn cheap for a fun hobby, considering what some of the other hobbies cost.

I bought a wonderful backscratcher for a dollar. It's easy on my skin. I liked it so much, I went back and bought another one for the car.

A book from the library. It was free. But I did have to select it from among many.

Scissors from one of the dollar stores. These things are amazing and surprisingly high quality, especially given what you pay for them. They have become my "go to" for opening packages, they cut through cardboard like butter.

It's been 4 months since I posted here so...

Bought 8 little tomato starts and 4 yellow pepper starts about 2 weeks ago (2 different types) for about $3 or $4 total.
I have lots of tomato and pepper seeds but went to a great local nursery for flowers and couldn't resist these.
Of course the spring weather turned bitter cold and they need to come in at night but they have tripled in size since they were transplanted to large pots.

I just got a text from my wife, and her purchase brought me a lot of joy. Our local Safeway had chicken parts on sale for just $0.77/lb., in large packages. She got drumsticks and thighs, so fried chicken tonight. I'll use the Foodsaver to vacuum seal the rest for freezing in meal-sized packages..

Honestly a coffee to go.

Sometimes we have to give ourselves little rewards to maintain going in the right direction.
