Unfortunately, the whole City is having issues with plane noise, because there is NO ONE in charge of regulating this kind of a traffic. Imagine if the traffic on the ground wasn't regulated, it be chaos and accidents all the time, I don't know why an invisible highway on top of one's home is any different?

Unlike mistakes on the ground, Mistakes in the flying world are catastrophic. Flying is unforgiving to begin with, You can’t just have a fender bender and pull over and knock the dents out. People get HURT and DIE and It is grossly irresponsible and incompetent of the authorities to continue to subject residents below to such a high risk of harm.

In terms of what you been told "to expect noise because you live close to an airport", the truth is that almost all Vegas residents are being exposed to some kind of a plane noise, those living in northwest, southwest, east, or west, Summerlin or outside of it ... There is nowhere to escape anymore, the whole City has been built around major airports, and the only way to avoid constant loud plane noise (no matter how far you live from an airport) is to live outside the City Limit, or leave Las Vegas. Sooner or later a rogue business (that has been thrown out of other places), will come and open an invisible highway on top of your home and occupy the airspace with no opportunity for regulation or feedback from the residents who've lived here their entire lives.

The FAA, the airport, paid specialists and government bureaucrats could not do worse of a job. They are getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year (our tax money BTW) and don't even think they have answer to public or be hold accountable for what they've done to this city.

In addition to constant horrible noise, there are MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS/VIOLATIONS regarding Sky Combat Ace, well documented by the FAA and NTSB. They have been exploiting all kinds of loopholes within the system to stay in business and avoid oversight, in terms of maintenance and pilot training. Their sell adrenaline to a bunch of junkies who come from downtown for excitement, loudness or whatever Vegas downtown has to offer. They have brought the noise of downtown to a residential neighborhood. In addition to horrendous noise, the residents below their flight path are being subjugated to a high risk of harm on a daily basis now. They've have had fatal crashes before and they love maneuvering/looping over residential homes. They are not a regular Cessna (flight schools) or commercial plane flying over, their single props are super loud and annoying, (E300=350 hp engine), much louder than commercial planes (from Harry Reid) that fly over Summerlin all the time now. At least commercial planes are high up when they get to Summerlin and make pleasant sounds with the jet engines. SCA has modified their engines, like sports cars, and they rev their engines as the are flying over residents (for marketing). Some days they hammer Sun City as much as 10-14 times a day, our homes and nice golf courses have become their playground and they are enjoying lack of regulation and oversight or whatever this is ... Because they know no one is stopping them.

Today I thought SCA will take a break from hammering Sun City Summerlin, but surprise, surprise, They are here 6 days of the week now. Can't even take a break from hammering Sun City with their loud E300s. Between the 360 flights daily coming out of KVGT, we are in the direct flight path of take off. We are demanding change not asking! The FAA is conspiring with aviation against the well being of the collective. Noise and fuel pollution is linked to violent crime, dementia, hearing loss, cancer, and heart disease. In what world is it normal to have rouge air vessels hovering, circling or flying at all over residential neighborhoods? They are revving their loud E300s for marketing too! SCA final destination is outside the City Limit - Red rock, their customer base is in downtown too, so what on earth are they doing here? Flying over thousands of home on a daily basis to go to red rock and come back for their 25 min adrenaline rush tours?

These flight training operations are incredibly obnoxious with low flights and loops around homes. We had a helicopter flight training business set-up near our home a decade ago. Get this..they leased the facility to a South American military operation for night-vision training for helicopter pilots in the mountains! Low, circling helicopters around your homes in the middle of the night! Same resistance to any regulation was encountered if you complained.

Some city officials did respond in my small town and the flights were directed away from homes into the mountains. Eventually the operations were moved to Cedar City, Utah…that is what I heard. I feel bad for anyone with this terrible noise and intrusion. Definitely impacts health and quality of life in a very negative manner.

I get aggravated by a few neighbor's barking dogs and the screaming children playing in their backyard/pool behind my house. The concrete block wall helps but isn't enough. I work from home so noises I hear are annoying and distracting. I can't imagine dealing with constant airplane noise. Sounds like a class action lawsuit is in order.

I'm in Henderson (89052) and hear planes now and then, but my house does a pretty good job of keeping the levels down. When I lived in Florida, many people had hurricane glass windows and sliding glass doors. They make a big difference in how much outdoor sound you can hear in the house. Heavy doors and good windows are a big expense, but cheaper than moving.

Thank you Chris. I'm glad your neighborhood could resolve this issue.

Unfortunately, The FAA, the airport, and local authorities in Vegas have really gone out of their way to be more than accommodating to Sky Combat Ace or flight schools who constantly hammer our area repeatedly in a day. The airport literally told the residents that SCA can do whatever they like, wherever they like, whenever they like, and residents here who pay expensive mortgages and property tax HAVE NO SAY. The FAA has remained awfully silent and oblivious to the obvious and the attorneys only care about money before bringing any prosecution to the parties responsible for this MESS.

KVGT is sending 99% of the traffic towards west of the airport and in between 360 daily flights, Sun City Summerlin, Lone Mountain, NW are in direct path of takeoff/landing. We have a lot of helicopters and Cessna too (flight schools who come here often). But SCA group tours and obnoxiously loud E300s are a different monster.

In addition to noise, SCA is technically putting a bunch of tourists with no flight experience on top of thousands of residential homes to fully control the aerobatic plane while the teacher (E300 pilot) who's high on drugs teaches the students the art of dogfighting. And like you said there is substantial amount of resistance and censorship to any kind of regulation or complaints.

The fact is 99% of commercial planes taking off from Harry Reid and flight schools and touring businesses (Sky Combat Ace) taking off from KVGT are being sent over densely populated residential neighborhoods west of the airport. If there is ever a crash, these planes can take out a few homes or a few blocks all together. The FAA and the so called high paid specialists finally did it, the U-turn that sends the majority of traffic over Summerlin residential, they call it "environmental and sound project". Testing the efficiency of their toxic fuels and horrendous noise on the residents below throughout the valley. They are experimenting on us, like lab rats.

Noise and fuel pollution is linked to violent crime, dementia, hearing loss, cancer, and heart disease. In what world is it normal to have rouge air vessels hovering, circling or flying at all over residential neighborhoods? SCA needs to be moved outside the City Limit, like Jean Airport. https://www.change.org/p/move-sky-co...ce-out-of-kvgt

Thax for the feedback. It's been particularly bad over our area.

We have all the noises that a normal neighborhood has, and on top of all that we have constant noise and intrusion of Sky Combat Ace group tours and flight schools. The FAA and local authorities have failed to implant sensible policies for noise mitigation and they are allowing American citizens to be exposed to unsafe level of plane noise and fuel pollution. Whenever it rains in Summerlin (even a little), I can clearly see huge stain marks of fuel jets all over my windshield, we are breathing and living this toxicity every single day. Inside our own homes that we pay expensive mortgages and property tax for. We are being poisoned. the airport literally told the residents that SCA can do whatever they like and residents here who pay expensive mortgages and property tax HAVE NO SAY. The FAA has remained awfully silent and oblivious to the obvious and the attorneys only care about money before bringing any prosecution to the parties responsible for this MESS.

No amount of insulation or thick walls/windows can block the constant noise and intrusion of Sky Combat Ace loud E300s group tours. The distinct, ever-present roar of their group tours. The loud whiny noise of their E300s that accompanies our breakfast, lunch, and dinner; the noise that haunts you during the day, in your garage, in the kitchen, and any room in the house, no matter how new your windows or how thick your walls. Sky Combat Ace planes are operating most days from 9 am till 7pm, (their Extra300 airplanes have a very powerful 315hp engine, they call them adrenaline rush) and their noise exceeds FAA's limit of 65db (even at a 1000 ft) which is harmful to individuals’ health. KVGT is now almost located at center of the town (as exterior grow due to new construction) and I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to move Sky Combat Ace from Henderson Executive (almost outside the City Limit) within the City limit (exposing more than 10K homes along their path to such a noise on a daily basis).

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), though, safe noise levels are only 45 dB DNL for indoor noise and 55 dB DNL for outdoor noise. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends lower aircraft noise levels: 45 dB Day-Evening-Night Level (adding a 5 dB penalty for noise between 7-10 p.m.) and 40 dB at night. Both EPA safe noise levels and WHO recommended aircraft noise levels are obviously much lower than the FAA’s 65 dBA DNL, especially because they use unweighted dB.

Being annoyed or disturbed by aircraft noise is stressful. Stress increases heart rate and blood pressure. Stress increases blood levels of stress hormones. Stress causes inflammation of the blood vessel lining. in turn causing cardiovascular disease, including hypertension and heart attacks, and other adverse health effects. Scientific experts think that the evidence is strong enough to establish causality, not merely a statistical association. Epidemiological studies demonstrating these effects have been confirmed by human and animal research. The biological mechanisms are now understood at the cellular, subcellular, molecular, and genetic levels. Aircraft noise also affects poor and minority communities more than others. Children are also more sensitive to damage from noise, which also interferes with learning.

It's a sad state of affair and total chaos and lack of transparency and regulatory inaction from the FAA and local authorities make everything even more tragic. AS mentioned before, The FAA and the so called high paid specialists finally did it, the U-turn that sends the majority of traffic over Summerlin residential, they call it "environmental and sound project". Testing the efficiency of their toxic fuels and horrendous noise on the residents below throughout the valley.

Living in 89138. we get a lot of helicopters lately (flight schools). SCA is flying over our area too. They were thrown out of Henderson due to numerous noise/safety complaints from the residents. City of Henderson has a lot of powerful politicians and lobbyists. How convenient to throw out SCA from KHND and send them to all the way here to Summerlin. Oceanside CA banned them. 80% of their tours are to red rock and they are flying over our area non-stop on Fridays, Sat, Sun and Mon.

I was talking to a few neighbors today. They are pissed off, they've bought expensive homes in Summerlin and they are concerned that Sky Combat Ace will DEVALUE the price of their homes. we don't want their loud E300s, they are RISKING the lives of people underneath. It’s not just inconvenience, or loss of our home equity. They risk our lives. They are looping and maneuvering over homes. We may need a class action lawsuit, that maybe the last resort if Summerlin doesn't take a stand the way Henderson did.

I just realized I’ve seen these planes a few times up at Lake Tahoe and once at Washoe Lake. I remember thinking how rude and crazy to fly a loud plane so low over the beaches. Fortunately, we don’t have the volume of flights here in Northern Nevada. The loud and aggressive maneuvering is definitely a bit alarming and irritating. The flyovers were VERY low, I’m surprised planes are allowed to fly that low. I assumed it was air show planes since we have a number of events here, but now I realize it’s this same business. Crazy.

Thanks Chris. You've seen Sky Combat Ace loud stunt planes, so you know exactly what I'm talking about. Our home is under siege now by SCA loud E300s and other flight schools that start as early as 6 am on a daily basis now. SCA and their group shows are a BAD DREAM you will never forget.

This company does whatever they like, wherever they like ... flying low, looping, maneuvering, revving their loud E300s for marketing, hammering Sun City Summerlin (like 10-14 times a day/they have very frequent scheduling in Vegas - their E300 N466MD is particularity rude and obnoxious - was flying low over our home just 10 times today), they are here everyday, including the weekends, even on Sundays, terrorizing Sun City. We pay expensive mortgages/property tax and can't even sleep, rest or work because of their constant daily/almost hourly intrusion. It's the noise that will drive you out of your own neighborhood that you love; out of a state you were living for decades.

SCA will DEVALUE homes in Sun City Summerlin. Not to mention they risk our lives, with their recklessness and lack of oversight. the Insanity is that no one is STOPPING them, it's a never ending nightmare living underneath their daily flight path now. Like NextGen, they are the FAA’s Carte Blanche to Wreak Havoc on the residents' Ears, Health, Sanity and Serenity. Similar to the FAA's NextGen, they are an ASSAULT WEAPON AND A TORTURE DEVICE and have been developed with a complete disregard to surface dwelling human beings and will without doubt destroy the lives & goals of thousands of residents underneath their daily flight path.
