I think it will occur, as key is an ever growing major corp office environment-the group who buys the most expensive boxes season after season, plus a large tv market.

The Titans, The Predators, Nashville Soccer Club, and Nashville Sounds, how much room is there for a fifth team? Would we lose The Sounds? With Atlanta and St. Louis so close could the region support another team?

We need an NBA team, Vandy basketball does not do it for me. I know we will never get one with Memphis having one. I would love an MLB team but I do not think it come here anytime soon do you?

When Bredesen was mayor he recommended the NBA team go to Memphis. I wish I could remember the link. In any case we essentially gave that team to Memphis. Bredesen thought we were over exposed with the NFL and NHL.

Nashville could easily support an MLB team. Atlanta is 4 hours away, while St Louis is 4 1/2 hours away.

Contrast that with Cleveland, for example, being only 2 1/2 hours from Detroit, and only 2 hours from Pittsburgh. While Baltimore is only an hour from Washington DC.

The entire southeastern US has only 3 MLB teams, with 2 of those deep in Florida, and 1 in Atlanta.

Don't forget, the southeastern United States has the most population now of ANY region in the US. So, there's people to support the team, and demand here for sure.

I agree but when is the soonest they could get a team. I know the MLS soccer team bid came together fast. I think it would take MLB about 5 years to some to Nashville at the earliest they have not even had a vote yet.

Yep, and don't ask the Nashville taxpayer for anymore money right now with budget shortfalls in several areas. We have not built the soccer stadium yet, and the expansion cost of First Tennessee could be high. There are only so many tourist taxes the city could pass before it becomes to expensive to come here.

Yeah, true. Could take a while, but money talks for sure.

I dunno, Nashville's a red hot brand now, and everyone wants a presence there. I have a feeling Nashville may just get an MLB team in the future. Maybe sooner, maybe much later, but I would not be surprised to see MLB in Nashville by 2030.

If a team comes to Nashville, I think it would be an American League team. But, could the region support, a 10 game home stand, with at least 27-28,000 butts in the seats, each game?
