I would give the year MVP to Huff. It would be nice to see Barry Bonds as a pitch hitter too. I know BB can still swing the bat.

No thanks. This is the first trip to the playoffs without Bonds since 1989. I like it just fine this way.

While Bonds was around, at least in his later roid filled years, the Giants had become all about him...not the team. I'm one Giants fan who's glad he's gone.

I agree with Upton, when Bonds was around, all others were eclipsed. It was always "Barry Bonds and the Giants", never just "The Giants." Everything would be referenced with Bonds in mind..."If Soandso and Jobleau can get on, that will bring Bonds to the plate"..that sort of thing.

And while Bonds was an incredible performer, he was also this sullen scapegrace of a guy with an such an annoying personality that you had to hold your nose while you cheered for his on field heroics.

It is nice to be rooting for a team once more, not just Mr. Ego and his supporting cast.

We made it to the WS in 2002 and because of Bonds extraordinary performance in the playoffs, we were 5 outs from winning.

We were also in playoffs couple other times with Bonds.

He never took Steroids. No one could ever prove it it. He is just good and the king of HR period.

I didn't care for the fellow and I'll stay on his back if I wish to do so.

And of course he used steroids, how could anyone conclude anything else?

Other admitted and Bonds did not. He was never guilty and no one could ever prove this. He is just good period.

Best eye to ball coordination.

THere is an astonishingly persuasive collection of evidence which establishes his steroid use. If you stick your head in the sand and pretend that it does not exist, then I suppose you are able to justify your preposterous statements.

eye to ball? whatever that is...

Bonds was the ultimate post season choker. In 9 post season series he hit a putrid .245 with a crummy .503 slugging pctg.

Bonds probably cost his teams chances to get to the World Series with his even more embarassing .203 avg and .329 slugging pctg in his 4 NLCS series.

Even if Bonds was not cheating with his use of steroids he still wouldn't get into the HOF (according to your standards) because he never won a World Series. It will be fun to watch guys like him squirm as they wait for a call that will never come.
